Root Cannot Root with Revolutionary or Unrevoked

I have got unlocked bootloader and even flashed superuser onto my device. but for some reason it is still not rooted. I tried bout unrEVOked and Revolutionary. it either says firmware too new or hboot 2.18.0001 is not supported at this time. please help if anyone knows anything about this or another way to root

I'm just wondering what you mean when you say you don't have root? What are you basing this information off of?

Does your phone have the superuser app on it? (It should if you flashed it in recovery)

If so, download a root-only app like adfree from the market and try to run it. If it works (it asks for superuser access and your able to allow it), your good to go.

im saying i am not rooting because unrevoked didnt ROOT me or revolutionary couldnt do it. i checked through command prompt and an app , and both say i am not rooted :\

ok i downloaded a screen shot app.. and it telling me it only works on rooted phones..

When you access your bootloader / hboot screen ( white screen with Andy riding a skateboard ) does it say: Supersonic ship S-ON or S-OFF?

If you're S-off, the hard part of your root is completed, then you only need a custom recovery and superuser to complete full root access. :)

Post back with your security status and we'll get you fixed up!! Rxpert is very knowledgeable and wont steer you wrong. ;)

If you haven't read these guides, I suggest you do so to be sure you understand all there is to rooting that hboot version:

Once your bootloader is unlocked and a custom recovery installed you are able to flash whatever Rom you want.

Gaining S-OFF is not required for this.

but wherever i look , to flash custom roms it says i need to be rooted. so this isnt true? i dont wanna do something and mess up my phone lol

yep, as long as your bootloader is unlocked and you have a custom recovery, you are good to go on flashing roms. i know it seems weird that you have s-on and still be able to flash things.
