Good question. Let's find out. As I've said I've experienced the issue on multiple ROMs, but I was always using the .48 radio. How about everyone else?

I am on .33 because of the LTE. But I'm probably going to flash .54 later today. Since i get LTE maybe 2 days out of the week.

SOLVED! (So far so good)

OK, here's the deal. It seems to be a combination of the following:

  • Google Nexus 4
  • T-Mobile as a provider
  • WiFi Enabled
  • DASHES in the phone number!!! (really!?!?! In this day and age!?!?!)
I searched around and found this article: http://support.t-mobile.com/thread/14826

SPECIFICALLY:

"5. Remove any dashes ( - ) or special characters in phone numbers listed for the contact. If necessary, re-enter the phone number manually without dashes or other characters."

The issue is also mentioned in this article: http://support.t-mobile.com/docs/DOC-1979

The easiest way I found to remove the dashes was to go to gmail contacts and remove them from ALL 500+ of my contact phone numbers there. What a pain in the you-know-what!

After that, I seem to be able to send MMS messages (with attached pictures) without problems. Yay!

One last thing! When entering a new number into the Nexus, it automatically inserts dashes (as is evident when going to Google contacts), so you will need to remove them explicitly.

NOTE: Even though a number does not have dashes, the phone will add them for display, so it seems as if they are there, even when they are not. The only reliable way I have been able to identify numbers with and without dashes is to go to Google Contacts.

I have contacts with 123-456-7890 and as well as 1234567890. And both work fine, i am now on .54 and i must say it is an improvement. Havent lost a bar yet, the data hasnt gone away. Data is pretty quick as well. I am usually sending an image of 1mb or 1.2 mb. Which used to take a minute, but now takes 10-30 seconds.

Also my contacts are as (123)456-7890. Either way it now sends it

If only modem .54 allowed LTE:(

Though I have never had this problem its good to know there are solutions if required.

Though editing all those contacts and remembering to edit all new contacts every time seems such a pain in the ass.

Its all worth it in the end though. All that work does pay off

Just checked and the two contacts I know have not sent MMS do not have dashes. Not discounting your solution, just saying it doesn't work on my phone...
