Root Can't backup with AmonRa Recovery. GB Root

soundidea

Newbie
I just rerooted my EVO 4G tonight and I wanted to be safe and do a backup just for future cases and to avoid this error to happen again. Anyway, I installed AmonRA Recovery from Clockwork and it doesn't want to create a backup. I get the error saying
"Oops... something went wrong!
Please check the recovery log!"

I'm not sure what the issue could be. I have about 500MBs of memory left and I have a back up SD card that I can use. I'll try that in the morning if it doesnt work this time.

ok so your last post stated that you have s-on. so do you still have s-on? also what size card are you using?

the recovery log is located on the root of the SD card. if you can post this file I might be able to assist you on what is the problem.

You say you only have 500 m left on the sd card. Some of my backups are a little over that so that may be the problem. Id try to clear a little more space and try it again.

Ok, my s-on was so-on but I rooted it last night and got it back to s-off.

I have two 8gb sd cards one of them is practically full and the other is clean. I used both and both wouldn't do that back up. I tried twice on the clean 8gb sd card though. The first time i got the error and the second time it worked fine without any problem.

Is a nandroid really over 500mb? If that's the case I gotta reformat my old one. I hate having little memory. I got the synergy ROM to work too where as last night the boot kept repeating itself. So far everything seems to be in working condition and nothing bad has popped up yet. only been 30 minutes though.

What is the name of the recovery log file in the root?

nandroid backups can be pretty big. what are you backing up? try just doing the first three and see what happens.

weird that it worked on the second try on the clean 8g. i would definitely check out the recovery log and see what it says on that one.

you may want to reformat your card.

I tried looking for that recovery.log file on the root of my original sd card but couldn't find it. I searched through a few folders trying to find it but gave up and just reformatted the whole thing.

I thought it was weird too since it was literally clean and not used. Everything works now and I'm running on my original sd card. I made a regular nandroid backup on the other sd card and a backup on my original with the wimax keys stored on to it.
