Help Can't Detect Any networks

[Android Question]

HELP! My galaxy cannot detect any wifi networks. The wifi is working in my house, yet I cannot detect it on my phone. I also went to school and I could not find any of the public wifi networks. For some reason, my phone is not able to detect any kind of networks? How can I fix it so that I can find networks?

It might help if you told us which model Galaxy you own and what version of Android its running.
Offhand it sounds like the WiFi function is just turned off. When you go into Settings >> Wi-Fi is there a green 'On' or a greyed out 'Off' indicator?
But more details would make it easier to diagnose the problem. Has this problem just started recently or is it a long-standing issue? If it just started recently, did anything like a system update get applied right before all this began?

Agreed, especially as the OP has neither a Pixel or Nexus device.

A simple but easy fix... is "Airplane mode" enabled by mistake? This is surprisingly easy to do on many devices due to where it's sited in the "Quick Settings" drop-down.
