Root Can't Find WiFi

Have had my Optimus V over a year now, and no real problems until now. For some reason, my router is no longer being recognized on the phone for a WiFi signal. My router is in my list of Wireless places, but it will say out of range. I know my router is okay since all my computers and my wife's phone are fine, but the V doesn't recognize it anymore. I can even do the Forget and then try to connect back, but nothing.

I'm running BACKside.

Try this: First select to Ignore network on the phone. Turn both the phone and the router off. Turn the router back on after 5 minutes, then turn the phone on select your network and put in your network key (password).

Didn't work. Did get a signal almost immediately, but now after a couple of hours back to the same deal, saying Not in Range. I do occasionally get a Wireless Network Available alert in my notification area, but when I try do do the pull down there is nothing there.

Take the phone to McDonald's or some place with free WiFi. If the phone still doesn't connect it's a problem with the phone. If it does connect, it's a problem with your network connection-phone.

It's hard at this point to go any farther until you determine the above.

You might have to:
Phone- select ignore network and turn off.
Router- disconnect everything, reset and turn off.
Modem- disconnect everything, turn off, and pull backup batteries.

Wait 20 minutes.

Starting with the modem, put the batteries back in, plug in and wait for it to fully boot up.
Router-plug everything back in and power up, let it fully reboot. Using a PC connected to it with an ethernet cable, sign in to your router login (password should have reverted to default) double check your network key (the network password).
Turn on the phone and select the network and sign in with your network key.
