I've flashed CMW recovery a million times and can't get this to work
My CWM Recovery version is 3.0.0.8...
I boot up into recovery and select to install from .zip. All I get is a black screen with the ROM Manager icon until I tap the power button to get the option list back. No matter what I select, even Power Off from the list gives me the same stupid screen. Even tried the Amon_RA whatever you call it and flashed alternate recovery from RM but my recovery menu is still unusable. I found this XDA thread somewhere and it mentions to run a shell from the host machine etc...to remove install-recovery.sh. Not sure if that's what the whole problem is here but I must be an idiot because I have no idea how to plug those commands into the command prompt. This is all it gives you:
adb shell
su
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mtdblock3 /system
cd /system/etc
ls
and if install-recovery.sh is present throw in the next one:
rm install-recovery.sh
then exit....
I've used command prompt for Blackberry related things often but I'm no expert and throwing in adb shell, by itself, obviously isn't going to do anything....don't you need to change directories first at least or something? But which? I'm hungry, frustrated and wanna get stupid S-ON so I can unroot (again) and RMA this phone. Suggestions?

i haven't had to mess with my phone, or i'll say, i'll i've opted to NOT mess with my phone to this extent until i was forced to just recently...and i rarely use the optical pad =/ like 99.9% of the time i never touch it...not sure why....but...that was the whole problem why i couldn't navigate in recovery and think i'll go die of embarrasment now...
