Root Can't get out of Bootloader & Recovery.

Ok, so I put the Superwipe.zip file on the root of my sdcard then flashed it but now I can't get out of bootloader & recovery. What did I do wrong?

I'm trying to flash a rom so I can finish this whole rooting preocess I started a week ago and thought I had to do superwipe before flashing a rom.

Superwipe wiped, so your previous rom is gone. have you tried flashing a new rom yet?

have you tried following the steps from Ocn's guide?

Flashing
"this is all good, but how do i flash a rom or kernel?

good point so here is what you do to flash a rom:
1.first you need the vr superwipe:ZZZVR_SUPERWIPE.zip. download it and put it on your card. (optional)*
2.download the rom of your choice and transfer it to your card.
3.go into recovery
4.make a nandroid backup
5.select wipe from the main menu and wipe dalvik cache, cache, and data
6.select install (or flash depending on which recovery you have) zip from sdcard
7.find the superwipe file and flash it.(optional)
8.find your rom and flash it.
9.reboot.

first boot will take a bit longer then normal, so be patient.

*the vr superwipe is an optional step, but i would recommend that you use it. it wipes system, cache, and boot. it wipes those three times. then it wipes the temp files and does that three times. i would not only use this tool to wipe. it should be done in addition to wiping data, dalvik cache and cache. one last thing about superwipe, this will only work with those that have support for amend scripting. only clockwork mod 2.6, amon ra 2.3, and trwp will work. so if you have clockwrok mod 3 and higher you might want to switch recoveries."

Yep, as stated, superwipe is NOT a ROM.

It will wipe most of the partitions on the phone, including those that are needed to boot. You need to flash a ROM and you'll be fine.

If you dont have one on your SD card yet you can do so through recovery

I guess I thought I was just loading it onto the phone but not actually wiping anything. I looked for specific directions on using it but couldn't find them so I just went ahead and did it the way I thought it should work but obviously I thought wrong.

well, for future info, you wipe well before you flash a rom. The recovery has a number of options to wipe different things. It is good to wipe everything EXCEPT the SD card itself. The superwipe is an automated way to wipe a bunch of stuff.

You do it to sort of have a clean slate for your new rom to go onto. Can't boot that clean slate though. so, after you wipe, you flash your rom and when it reboots, you should be good to go!

I put MikG rom on my card at the same time I put Superwipe.

I did the first 3 in that order but then did step 7. Forgot to do a Nandroid backup and was thinking "don't forget to do a wipe!" but did the wrong kind!

WTF!!!!

I'm just really pissed at myself for doing this after reading all the guides and getting all the help I've gotten. Makes me kinda wish I'd never attempted this but it is what it is and all I can do now is flash MikG and hope I can restore as much as possible.

So make sure you wiped averything except SD card manually and then flash mikg

That's the plan.

When this is all hashed out and I've gotten passed the "pissed at myself" stage I'm sure I'll find something to take away from this to make myself feel better about doing this to my next phone. After all, I'm sure there have been more knowledgeable people than I who have had a misstep like this. and if there haven't been just don't tell me!

At least I haven't bricked it!

"Breaking" things, then figuring out how to fix it is half the fun with flashing stuff!! :p

But I will say, the first time I "thought" I really screwed up, I was all jacked up. Sweatty palms, nausea, mass hysteria, tiger blood, Epic fail!! :D

Then I got some super fresh advice from the guru's here, and all was good. ;)

Point is, you're not alone, and we've all been in your shoes. Thats why we're here to help pay it forward!! :)
