Root Cant go back to s-on

and you still have s-off?

is the file named correctly? it needs to be exactly PC36IMG with only one zip in the name. do not add an extra zip as windows hides extensions.

is the file on the root of the card? that means not in any folder.

if the answer is yes to both, then what happens when you go into hboot? does it see it? does it ask you to update?

Ok, I think we're confusing each other, lol.:p

The s-on tool should be flashed from recovery, not the bootloader. That file should have the original name given when downloaded, don't change it to PC36IMG.

The RUU file should be renamed to PC36IMG and that file is flashed from the bootloader (hboot)

Also what radio version does your phone currently show?

I'm more than likely the one thats confused, it's not hard to confuse me! :D

yeah i think that you are confusing unrevoked s-on tool that is flashed in recovery. with revolutionary you need to name both files PC36IMG and have bootloader install them.

A couple of weeks ago I made the mistake of trying to unroot a pre gingerbread(2.3) rooted phone with the current unroot method for gingerbread. It got my hboot all screwy and I still had s-off. The solution was to flash the old hboot, then flash the old radios. After doing so the revolutionary s-on tool you flash through recovery will work. If you don't flash the old radios it will give you a radio mismatch error.

Not sure if the OP did what I did but it sort of sounds like it.

can u link me to old hboots and radios?

I am starting to think this is an issue with Revolutionary Root. I am running into the exact same problem. I had updated to the latest RUU which broke my root, gave me 2.16.0001. I used Revolutionary.io to root, was running MIUI.

Boot looping, no recovery. Same s/w, radios etc.

I was able to get it back to 2.16.0001 from 6.16.0002.

Still no luck no matter what recovery, ruu or radios i try to flash.

ok so i responded to your other post on a different thread. lets try and keep it to one thread. otherwise it will get too confusing.
