OP what really matters is that you have a device that works for you and that you're happy with.
I will say that there are things you can do to get more battery life one of which has been mentioned in the ext battery. Even further if you are comfortable doing so Rooting and putting a Custom Rom/Kernel really really helps. Regardless it really should be about what ever device makes you the happiest no matter which device that is.
Who are these people who are only getting 6 hours out of their phones? If you use it for 6 straight hours, maybe? But I have the standard battery and can always get through the day. It should be noted that I generally just use 3G, but still.
Man, either your phone has issues or you're doing something wrong. I work in a place that is without signal 80-90% of the time (even on my Moto Droid I was without signal that much so it's not my GNex reception that's the problem) and with moderate use I can still make it through an 8 hour work day and the hour of driving to and from work. So I can easily get 9+ hours. With Juice Defender turning mobile data off and only turning it back on once an hour to sync for 10 minutes, I could get 15 hours or so.
Now I have NFC tags at work and home and have my phone set to turn off mobile data when I scan the one at work, turn on mobile data when I leave, and turn on wifi when I get home. Doing that with moderate usage I still have 40-50% battery at night after being off the charger for 15-16 hours.
I also have the extended battery so I always have my stock battery as a backup if I need it and I'm rooted and running a custom kernel and ROM
Do you have some weird app installed. I don't use juice defender and get 16hrs on average. A standard day for me is 2hrs on the phone, 50 emails between my 2 gmail accounts and about 10 through my pop account and about 1.5hrs of web browsing. Oh and a ton of txt. Now I don't have Facebook. Or twitter so maybe that makes a difference and I do live and work in good 4g areas. Normally my phone comes off the charger at 6am and around 11pm I usually have 20-30% left when I put it back on the charger.this with the standard battery.
i didyeah you should just get the iphone
