Root cant mount sd card

ram60615

Newbie
I tried one of the ROMS, and it was working fine, (Thanks, by the way) then, i tried to do get a different ROM, now, the phone can't mount the card. i tried to put the card in a diff HTC phone, it didnt read it, but i put it to an adapter, and it read the card on a diff program. Please Help

Your going to have to give us some specifics. What was the first ROM you were running, what was the other one?

Have you tried backing up the card to your computer and reformatting it?

the first rom was chromium. i then went to the ROM Manager App to reboot it, that's when it said 'sd card needs to be mounted'.
i was trying to get the Decks Reloaded rom

Step 1 is going to be to get rid if both ROM manager and clockworkmod recovery. Replace it with amon ra recovery and leave ROM manager in the dust. That combination is buggy and causes a lot of problems.

I'm on the phone so I can't link but a simple google search should suffice.

Put the card in the card reader to put the files on there and then reboot to hboot to install the recovery before booting into it and flashing your Rom.

If the bootloader can't read your card it will most likely have to be partitioned. That's why backing it up is so important.

+++1 for that info :D

ram60615- ROM MANAGER is a very buggy program. One in which has caused many of headaches around here. We always recommend doing things from recovery. Recovery is so much better than relying on a program that is worthless when your phone wont boot into the ROM.

If you have an SDCARD reader then put your card in it and go into WINDOWS and backup card like Rxpert has recommended. This is not the same as backing up with clockwork. After backup has completed try running the command from a dos box:
chkdsk x: /f /r
REPLACE (x) with the actual drive letter of your SDCARD.
The above will check the file structure of the card and check the physical disk structure. If it gives you no bad sectors then format the card through the phone and then try to use the card in the phone with your current ROM. You should be able to access the sdcard from recovery.

well, my card cant be read on the pc when i used the adapter. i put it in my camera and it said "read only memory change to internal memory". so then, i plugged the camera to the pc. it showed the files, but would not allow a deletion or format. I just want to know if i jus gotta get a new 8gb card, or can it b saved??
