So I know Google wants to always know but i am doing, but outright removing by ability to remove a google account from my phone? Now thats just a security concern.

Ever since Android Lollipop they have removed the button that lets you remove a google account, they have no troubles letting you add one of course, but as soon as you want to remove them there seems to be no way since they love us not being able to sign out.

^^^There it is....

Settings>accounts>google>[your email/account]>three dot menu (...)>remove account.

Ever since the horrendous Lollipop update, I have this problem with my email. I delete all of my messages, which I've checked on the server and they're all delivered. But then there accumulates a huge number of them that can't be deleted & says I may have emails that have not yet been retrieved from the server. But they were and are just stuck in there. How can I remove them? I tried re-loading email, it removes them, but then they come back. I have the feeling this has something to do with the beloved Google, as did my loss of my microphone when this update happened, too. PS: the new calendar sucks too!

2015-06-11 20.17.19.png I have lollipop on Galaxy Note 3 and I managed to delete my account. Go to settings-general - accounts - google - select the account you want to delete. When you the sync options page opens, press the menu button and you get to delete the account :)

I know I am late to the party, but I have 5.1.1 on a Note 5. Here is how I had to do it...
Step 1 - Open up Settings and, in the Personal area, select Accounts.

Step 2 - Select the account you want. I chose Google - Screenshot_2015-10-14-06-57-46.png

Step 3 - This was where I had been lost for so long. I actually I had to tap on the email address. I thought this was only for actually conducting a sync - Screenshot_2015-10-14-06-57-54.png

Step 4 - Now all the sync options are displayed. Tap More - Screenshot_2015-10-14-06-58-00.png

Finally - I was able to remove my account - Screenshot_2015-10-14-06-58-09.png
