Root Can't seem to get it sqaure

Hi All,

So Ive posted on here a couple of times today, and thanks to all of you I have fixed those problems in question, but I'm starting a new thread because I feel like even though Ive installed and ran most of what you all have suggested, it doesnt seem to run nearly as smooth as when I took it out of the box last weekend. Im hoping the experts can ID what is causing Lag in general, like when pressing onscreen buttons, softkeys, switching screens.

If this were a PC, Id say it was lack of system resources, but I dont know what is too much to run. That may not even be it! Here is my config as of this moment, and this is all after i did a data and cache wipe in clockwork:

-DJ05 Radio
-Super Clean 0.7 ROM
-11/29 Test No Voodoo Kernal
(All these off the irc channel)

-Advanced task manager is running
-Astro File manager to backup apps
-Facebook, Hanscent SMS, Weather Channel, SportCenter, Stock Music player, Analog clock, and Smooth Calendar running across 3 screens as widgets

I hope this helps turn some gears initially. Thakns for all your advice :-)
 
Sounds like you have a lot of Widgets running to start with.....which is gonna slow you down....

I would try one of geekniks kernels in rom manager as well (those for dj05) and see if they are any better for you as well
 
I loaded the Stupifast 1.54 Kernal and I closed the Music and Handscent widgets. Things are running more efficiently :-) Thanks!

If there are any other suggestions Ill take them for future reference!

general rule of thumb would be less widgets=better performance. i know everyone likes to have a ton of stuff on their homescreens, but personally i only keep what is neccessary like a calendar and a weather widget...thats usually it :)

everyones phone takes different kernels and setups a bit differently, so its all about tinkering to find what works best for you, and when new ones come out...if they are any better or not

Yeah I get that more and more these days. I guess this is the popular spot now. Its only going to get worse once that app launches monday

i enjoy posting on xda somewhat now...well on the threads that are ridiculous anyway, i feel the need to chime in with something sarcastic from time to time :o
