Help Can't stream radio.

EarlyMon, I saw this post. But I called Sprint and and we went into the proxy settings to check. They were already set as your post describes. There's a new post on the XDA Developers forum about this.

Again, this is not a problem on my wife's Samsung Epic. Her phone still streams these stations no problem.

My proxy settings are set to the Sprint proxies, not cleared out as they need to be.

Your Evo 4G LTE came with the proxy settings cleared??

And the issue always affected only some users at some times, I don't think it's unit or model specific.

Sorry, I need to clarify.

About a week ago, when I still had my original EVO I called Sprint and tried to resolve this problem with them. I actually told him about your post and requested that we check the proxy settings. That's when we went into the proxy settings to comfirm that they were all cleared. And they were--I never changed the proxy settings on my original EVO; they were already cleared when we checked them. All I know is that it worked until about two months ago, then it stopped. The Sprint techs's next step was going to be a phone reset, but I told him nevermind because I was upgrading to the LTE. I have not checked the proxy settings on this phone, but I'm getting the exact same behavior from this phone that I got from my origianl EVO and it did not have proxies set.

That's bizarre, really. Did you root your Evo and replace the stock rom? All Sprint phones come pre-loaded to use their proxies.

You can check it yourself safely by dialing ##3282# and then choosing view mode rather than edit. From there, Advanced, then the RTSP/HTTP Setting.

Do you still have your Evo?

This all has to do with signal timing by the way, that's why it affects some and not others. I am pretty sure that we can find cases of a Samsung not working while Evos do. Removing the proxy from the path reduces the path time between the server and your phone.

PS to Slug, thanks, I was just going to do that. :)

i zeroed the proxy setting on the lte the day i picked it up. the standard sprint proxy settings were there.

and to make certain we can troubleshoot,

what radio are you using? FM radio? tunein radio?

are you on wifi or cellular? does it make a difference with either?

can you stream sprint tv? what about youtube?

On my old EVO, no it was not rooted. It was stock and all updates that got pushed were installed. Again, I never cleared the proxies on it, but when I checked them about a week ago (while on the phone with Sprint), they were zeroed. I still have the phone--it has been transferred to my daughter and has since been reset, so I will check it again but can't until I get home this afternoon.

My new EVO LTE proxy settings are as you described for Sprint--they are NOT zeroed. I am using TuneIn radio--same thing I used on my old EVO and it worked until about 2 months ago. It still works over WiFi!! Just can't stream via 3G. Will go to 3G to try streaming Youtube and Sprint TV and report back shortly.

OK, update!! Shut down WiFi to test Youtube and Sprint TV over 3G. Youtube works. Sprint TV prompts me for an update so I download it and it works. Go back to TuneIn and now it streams my station!

Something in the update that was required for Sprint TV is my guess. I never tried that on my old EVO because I never use Sprint TV.

Well, Thanks a plenty to marctronixx for suggesting that I try this. It looks like it indirectly solved my problem. And thanks to everyone else for helping me troubleshoot. Hope it's solved for good.
