Root Can't unroot my Droid >=(

I don't know if this has been stated... I'm done trying to unroot my phone following directions from 12 months ago. I'm done with things from August, also. As probably is usual, I'm sending my phone back (it won't charge) but I can't get rid of superuser permissions. I was rooted with easy root. I clicked the thing that said to unroot (do so incase of a warranty issue) deleted everything associated with rooting and updated to 2.2. I have to get rid of superuser permissions....
Am I supposed to "flash back" (no idea what that means) to 2.1??
I tried. I followed instructions, downloaded a bunch of useless crap and it doesn't work. RSD lite, which I was supposed to right click to use as administrator does not offer that option. If I open the program on my computer, it doesn't find the droid. Prob. because I'm not running as administrator, nor can I find a troubleshooting option which is also supposed to be there. Maybe cuz the crap is old, idk. I only have the option to "run" and to access properties. Neither do me any good.
So... can anyone help? I didn't even want the fng thing rooted, my brother did it one day when I was over his house, he does some crazy stuff with his phone... but he is suddenly too stupid to help me out here.
k enuff venting, I'm aggravated
so... any help is very much appreciated.
PS - 1. I am very very good at following directions (not when the directions don't apply, like "right click and click troubleshoot when it's not there!!!)
2. I don't know what OTA SDK flashback or any of that means.

thanks.

There are several options.

1. If your running stock and your mailing the device back in exchange for a certified like new I wouldn't worry about it. Simply do a hard reset before sending it back and do not resync. I did this with my previous rooted D1 due to a hardware issue and never heard anything about it.

2. The other option is to pull ROM Manager down and you have the option to flash back to an unrooted Froyo without messing with RSD Lite.

Hope this helps.

if you are on windows xp then you wont see run as admin you could just run like anything else. Have you made sure that you were in bootloader when you opened rsd lite?

to touch upon what android lover said, to use RSD lite you need to load the droid into bootloader mode. easiest way is to power down your phone fully (i just pull the battery) then hold down the up key on the physical keyboard and the power button until it loads into bootloader modfe, then you can stop holding the buttons, plug the phone into the PC after that.

I am still using RSD lite and an older software model from months ago so it does still work.

Couple questions, what operating system are you running on your PC? also you said that the phone isnt charging, if thats true then the port may be broken and RSD lite is actually 100% useless to you and you will have to use some other means to unroot, as stated rom manager as an unrooted rom.

I still root any Droid 1's that come my way by using RSD Lite to flash them back to 2.0.1, using the update.zip exploit to attain root, and then flashing a 2.2 custom ROM. So RSD Lite should still work for anyone. It's pretty robust, in my experience.

Going back to that USB port thing that gallandof mentioned, try connecting to a USB port directly attached to the motherboard (one of the ones on the back of the computer) and then putting it into bootloader mode, and then flashing with RSD Lite.
