Root Can't write to phone anymore

OK so no longer using my Triumph because it locked up on vacation in January. So I had to upgrade? to an EVO.

Recently I was bored and tried to fix the Triumph but when I do anything it says it works but nothing changes (partitions, files etc.). It acts like the phone is write protected. If I use partition software it says formatting but never does stick. If I delete files in ADB it does but then on reboot they are still there. Changes to file seam to work but when rebooted they don't. One partition program in windows says cylinder conflict or something like that. If I try to burn roms it starts but fails on formatting system.
Any ideas on where to go? Or shall I just toss it?

TIA

Sometimes we just want to admit it's over.:(

Are you trying to change things that are on the boot.img (on root '/' or not on system '/system' or data '/data')

My solution takes a bunch of work but is sure to revive the phone.

You'll have to go to the brink of the abyss to get back ...

Ok, anyway, you'll have to back up the phone with dd_rescue and flash an nb0 to Cherry Magnum and then restore a few partitions with dd_rescue then put on cwm recovery and flash stock ROM.

This has worked on numerous occasions for me, but I am pretty sure that I am only one of maybe 3 people that have done this. Not too many people are comfortable with the process or decide to install an nb0 from a different phone. :D

If you want more details I can point you in the right direction, or you can find threads created by me and look for dd_rescue and the triumph experiment. They contain everything you need to know.

BSydz YOU ROCK!! but you know that! Thanks for all your help with this phone. I will look up your posts and see what I can do. I always like learning new things and this may help me with my new tablets :-).
