Carrier for me?

Needs to be CDMA based, Verizon or Sprint. Currently on Virgin Mobile at $35 a month. I hate all their current phones. I want the Moto G.

Budget, about $40 a month. Any other options I missed out there?

Boost has the Moto G for 6 months at $35 right now, then $50 with subsidizing payments...eventually they'll get to $45...and a $30 credit right now.

Republic Wireless has the Moto X for $300, $25 a month plan for unlim text + data + 3G. I can imagine these would be hard to resell though if need be...and I hate the custom ROMs these things need (Longer update times, etc)

There aren't many CDMA carriers that you can use the Moto G on right now. Here are some other prepaid carriers you could use, but I don't think any accept the Moto G:

Ting, Voyager Mobile, Page Plus, and Straight Talk look like they have options for around $40 a month or less.

I think Boost Mobile accepts the Moto G, but I'm not too familiar with their plans. Though I must admit I find it weird that an area would have good Sprint Coverage and not have good AT&T coverage.

I'm pretty sure that Boost only carries the 8gb version of the Moto G. With no SD card ability that space could go fast. I don't think there's LTE either.

And what makes you think the Moto G needs a custom ROM? Moto has been doing well with that series.

I have the Moto G 8GB ($100) on Verizon prepaid. If you're a light user, you can go pay per use which is as low as $25 every 3 months (if the balance on your account is not enough to cover the monthly access fee, you get charged PPU rates: 25c/min, 20c/SMS, 25c/MMS and 5c/MB). This is a great option for very light users who have easy access to wifi. If you actually need the unlimited talk+text+data, Boost (Sprint) is likely your best bet. Caveat, the Moto G (CDMA) is 3G only, no LTE.
