Accessories Carrying options for Evo while running/jogging/exercising.

so, i don't have my evo yet (and this is my first post), nor do i have an extended battery yet--but i'm guessing that i'll get one and still want to run with it. has anyone found a armband+case that works with the extended battery?

any thoughts much appreciated. . .
Just get an spibelt. You can use an extended battery with it as it will stretch as needed. I put it on and don't even notice it there anymore. It is also way more comfortable than an armband.

I run with my evo. I dont have an armband because I use the ebay extended battery so I usually just carry it in my hand

I've been running and biking with my EVO with no problems... I also always ran with my blackberries (before I had the Evo) and use armbands. I have had great experience with Tunebelt armbands for them all-

http://www.tunebelt.com/ab83

The model AB83 is sized perfectly for the Evo; and the holes line up just right for the headset opening. It is low profile and cinches nicely so the Evo doesn't bounce. The neoprene is fairly thick and keeps the phone dry, even from LOTS of sweat and even rain. I typically don't bother, but if it is raining really hard you can just put the phone in a baggie, then in the armband if you are worried about it getting wet.

The picture on the website seems to be broken, but the arm band looks just like the one for the iPhone, but it is a bit bigger. I think you can get it from the manufacturer website, but I always just get them from Amazon. Edit- its not a problem for me, but the armband might be a bit small if you have big arms... It fits me just about perfectly, but if you have arms bigger than mine (my arms aren't small, but I don't consider my arms huge either, LOL) you might have to also get the armband extender. The website says it adjusts up to 17".

To track my runs/bike rides, I like Cardio Trainer. I also have MyTracks loaded, but always seem to use Cardio Trainer.

I use a bunch of things for music- Slacker, Pandora, iheartradio, TuneIn, or Cardio Trainer incorporates your mp3 collection.

I love the combo of My Tracks + Pandora. I've been doing something similar with the Palm Pre for more than a year, and the Epic for a month before exchanging for the Evo.

But, it seems like the Evo completely chokes (audio cut outs, Pandora hangs for minutes at a time, etc) when I try to get it to record in My Tracks and play Pandora (even when it's not in the high quality audio setting). This is over 3G but I can't tell if it's a data issue or a processor issue. Either way......is anyone else having this experience or have ideas as to how to alleviate it?

volume level is too low on the htc evo...the ipod has almost twice the volume level in terms of db

Try better headphones. Running was a non-issue as I use a bluetooth headset but when listening on planes and watching shows it always seemed a bit muted. I was using some crappy $20 sony buds from Best Buy. Recently I got some Ultimate Ears Fi5 buds with much bigger drivers and now I listen to stuff at 1/3rd volume and turning it all the way up would be painful.

Its also amazing how much more i can hear. Now that the Evo isnt trying to blast me and the headphones have a much better range when watching shows I could hear sounds I couldnt before, like footsteps in the background. It was a bit odd at first, I kept mistaking them for sounds in the real world.

I run and jog with it in my pocket, using Cardio Trainer to keep up with my time and distance and while playing music with Power Amp and never have a problem at all.

Have you done anything to verify the accuracy of Cardio Trainer? I have been using it for quite a while, but I just finished a half-marathon a week ago and the recorded distance didn't jive with the course markers.

The last time I used it on a track to run a mile, it was accurate. From any point on the track and on around back to that point is a mile. That is what it was. Now it does rely on GPS and such and they said there are certain factors that can hinder the accuracy of it. But it's always seem good to me.

I used My Tracks to record a run last week and it works very well now. It gives all kinds of useful stats, and a few not so useful ones too.

I don't have any concerns running with the evo. Especially this time of year. ;)

Hi all

I am a big Guy ...but evo is a little big and heavy.

What is the best solution to carry it while at gym?

Arm band ...would it not look funny?
Belt clip..would it pull your shorts down?
Short Pocket ..bounce around too much while running and the weight would make swing more .. be bothersome

What is your solution?

At the gym is a simple solution, put it on whatever machine your using..

While im on the treadmill, i sit it up where all my stats are. It stays just fine. I do most of my working out at the gym so it works.
Im about to get this tho, HTC Evo Armband :: Run & Walk with your HTC Evo!.
Soon, looks like the best armband so far, not to big and bulky (if there is such a thing with the evo :/) buttttttttt byeah

Not to sidetrack, but I see a lot of people using cardio trainer. I would like to consider this for biking. What is the difference between the free and the paid version? usually I don't mind just jumping for the paid version, but $10 and only 15 minutes to try it out with the new market has me a little more leary.

I'd say try out the free version, you can upgrade it later if you want. I use the free version for both running and cycling, and it does everything I need.

I think the paid version adds a couple more modes, such as an intervals training mode, etc.

i've been using the amphipod airflow endurance waistpack (http://www.rei.com/product/776506)to carry my evo while i train for the LA Marathon. This waistpack sits snugly against the small of my back, so it doesnt bounce, and has enough space to carry keys, energy gels/snacks and my ID. I dont like the feel of armbands, which is why i went with a waistpack instead. I've also been using RunKeeper Pro (now free) to track my workouts.

I stumbled onto Endomondo a while ago, besides stopping smoking a few years ago, and then turning the big 3-0, having this app on my phone has helped me to become motivated to run (as any tracking program probably would have).

I've been looking for something like this for a while, glad I came here, saw HTC Evo Armband :: Run & Walk with your HTC Evo!
Placing my order now, hoping it works adequately with my screen protector (zagg) without pulling it off.
