Case-Mate Barely There Case UPDATE: *Now Available*

Do you guys think this case would work with the VZW car dock? I love the dock, but hate how I can't use any cases. :(

no

i have the VZW barely there type case and its too big with it on. i like the looks of this because my VZW case is an absolute bitch to take off. i have nearly ruined the case and phone removing it to use in the car dock.

If anyone wants the black one I got in the mail I'll sell it for $15/shipped via paypal. PM me if you're interested.

Hmmm... tough choice. I already have the Seidio Innocase II and I really like it.

me too. the case mate case looks good too, major thing that gives me pause is that the case mate seems to leave too much of the top/bottom edges and corners exposed. my seidio case has already accumulated a few scars in those areas that surely would've taken a chunk out of the phone casing.

i do like that the case mate seems to offer a slimmer profile than the seidio case. just not sure i could live with less protection...

So otterbox's are tough and can handle a beating, and the other goes really fast?

OK, so maybe a Porsche wasn't the best comparison. A Smart car maybe? The point is it is a minimalist case. Not the most protective case (like an otterbox would be) but offers some protection with minimal bulk. It's almost like it's barely there. :D

Does anyone know of a case that will work on a Thunderbolt with an extended battery? Any info or links will be greatly appreciated.

Being the case hore I am, decided to get one of these. Really like the slim profile. This has to be the slimmest case available. Feels like no case at all and provides good grip, but also offers very little protection. I wouldn't expect this case to provide much protection against the dreaded getting-out-of-the-car-with-phone-in-lap-drop-to-the-pavement scenario. My seidio case would, however. Even so, I really like the almost no case feel of the casemate and it makes the phone feel much smaller than the seidio case.

I could use this as an every day case and for more treacherous activities I'll break out the seidio case.

Ordered a metallic silver one a few days ago and is waiting for me when I get home. Thought I could live with my Seidio Innocase II but i use the headphone jack at work with my table radio at work and have issues with the hole not big enough to let the 3.5mm post sit all the way down so decided to give this a try since the top of the phone is exposed.

so the case doesn't even protect all sides and a the bottoms corners look exposed. each ding i have on my phone (2) is because it fell onto something and that case wouldn't have made a difference.

Maybe this isn't the case for you then.

I think you misunderstood what "barely there" meant. It means it's barely there. Hope i cleared that up for you

Got mine in the mail yesterday and I think it will replace my Seidio Innocase II except I need a replacement. The left side does not sit flush on the left side of the phone and when I grip the phone it creaks.

Compared to the Seidio, it feels much thinner and is really barely there. Like others have said, it probably does not provide much drop protection but enough that it won't nick up a corner. The metallic silver looks like it will scratch so time will tell. I was almost tempted to leave the plastic on it.
