Accessories Cases

What was the outcome, does it fit?

Yeah, it fits perfect, like a glove! Very well made, hi-quality case, doesn't really add any extra bulk.

Been in/out of my pocket all day, and one thing that's kind of bugging me is that the parts of the silicone that are exposed tends to pick up lint & dust pretty easily...

I might go check out the Platinum case at BestBuy, which is actually the Seidio Innocase II, just re-branded.

I tried the Platinum case at Best Buy yesterday and it was literally a struggle to get off. The end result was that in getting it off, sim/memory card cap came off with it as well. No apparent damage to the phone and I only tried it once but I don't want to give it another shot though.

As a very knowledgable phone case user (abuser, I buy way too many), I would caution any potential buyers.

I took the spec case back and got a Pt (Platinum) case from best buy w/ the Zags Invisy shield, it is a nice case and velvet lined on the inside. Platinum Series - Case for HTC Inspire 4G Mobile Phones - Black - HAC21SB inspire&cp=1&lp=2

I received that case as a V-day gift from the wife. It is a nice case.
The case itself is a plastic/rubber material that fits snugly around the entire phone. The holster is made of hard plastic and has a spring clip on the back. The phone is held in the holster with the phone facing in towards the holster to protect the screen. The holster interior is felt-lined where the screen meets the holster.

I still feel the need to add protection to my screen. I will check out the Zags. Hopefully Zags would eliminate some of the fingerprint smudge problems. I must have very oily hands because I am constantly wiping off my screen.

The case does fit snugly onto the phone. I can see why you had the above problem when removing the phone from the case. Under normal circumstances, you wouldn't need to remove the case after putting it onto the phone.

You are correct, but I am not "normal" and occasionally go commando (talking about the phone).

It's also nice to sometimes clean out any dust that has gotten in there (still talking about the phone).

LOL. I see your point. Hygiene is a necessity (talking about the phone).

I picked up the Speck CandyShell from ATT. The grip is really good and it's not difficult to remove from my front pocket. I wish it was a little thinner and didn't add weight but I can't have everything.....

My biggest thing is wanting a case that doesn't "grip" my pockets a lot and make it difficult to get the phone in and out. So (given that there aren't many choices out at this point), I just picked this one up:

Platinum Series - Case for HTC Inspire 4G Mobile Phones - Black - HAC21SB

So far, so good. Fits snugly, felt lining on the inside to hopefully prevent scratching, easy to put on, not too terrible to get off (as some have said), and good feel - not too slippery, but doesn't grip the inside of my pockets too bad.

Don't know how it would do if you dropped it a good distance (say 3-6 feet on a hard surface) - certainly better than nothing, but robably not as good as others from a shock absorption perspective.

At this point, I definitely like it - though I still prefer the look and feel of the phone with no case (just don't want to scratch it or damage it this soon!)

Here is the combination I went with...

This case, by Proporta, for in the event of a drop. This case, from all the research I did, has great shock absorption. Doesn't look too shabby, either. Lightweight, flexible, yet not flimsy at all. Pretty excited about this when it finally arrives.

For screen protection, I went with the Zagg Invisible Shield screen coverage for the Inspire. Comes with warranty, guarantee, and from all the videos I've watched on it, pretty straight forward on how to install it. Hopefully, all goes well when it arrives.

If you order from Zagg.com, use this code... ZAGG20 ...to get 20% off your order. I used it, so I can confirm it DOES work.

Enjoy!

I have the Platinum case as well. Like some have said it was a hassle to get off at first but I got used to it and now it's not difficult.

When at work, we are required to have our phones visible at all times, not in pockets. Thus I need to have a case with a holster or some type of beltclip.

I like the Otterbox defender for this reason and was planning on getting it but I see now the cases built for the Deisre won't fit which is interesting.

When I am not at work, I prefer to keep my phone in my pocket since belt clips and holsters are so 2007.;)

Thanks for the suggestions so far and if anyone knows of a good case with a holster, please post.

I might go check this one out... Does the outside of the case have that rubberized coating on it? Also, how is the fit, perfect? I got burned on the Nexus-S case they have, so just double-checking, lol. Thanks!

Yes it has a rubberized coat, but it's not sticky, I pull it in and out of my pocket w/ no problems and it has a real good feel to it, and it is a perfect fit..If you get the invisy shield make sure you let it settle out for 24 hours then put the case on.I love the invisy shield, u cant even tell theres a cover on there...Best Buy price matched Zags web site for $14.99, they wanted $21.00 for it.

Ok thanks - I like the "rubberized" coat type of cases. Gives you a good grip without being too sticky and/or collecting pocket lint. I'm gonna pick one up at BB tonight and see how I like it compared to my Otterbox.

Btw, one bonus of the Otterbox case is that it comes with a "free" screen protector film.

I just received my Case-Mate Barely There in white. Just what I expected- slim protection that will keep the body from getting everyday minor scratches. I wouldn't expect it to be very reliable if dropped onto a hard surface though. Good fit and doesn't add much bulk at all. I might order the black soft-touch one now too.

I am a iPhone user that is about to make the switch to Android - just can't resist the gorgeous Inspire and can't wait to get my hands on it. From lurking around, the single biggest thing I am going to miss on this side of the fence is the aftermarket 'personality enhancers' - ie. CASES!

ANDROID SUCK FOR CASES!!! I fully understand why there are slime pickings, so no need to regale me with product release cycles, blah, blah, blah..... I am just bitching because the iPhone after market kicks a$$

I'm slightly embarrassed to say that was one of my concerns as well. Its awesome to go buy a new case when you're getting a bit bored of your phone.
