spamGot my Commando yesterday- impressed. Its my first Droid and first ruggedized phone, and haven't had much play-time w/it, but looks good.
Immediatly after charged, loaded Google maps and it flawlessly directed me to a destination 12mi away in an unfamiliar area. Ditto the comments on speaker- plenty loud to shout driving directions to me.
Also loaded My Tracks which did a great job of logging and analyzing my mt bike ride from inside my pack. Standard camera app took good pix at the post-ride pub crawl, but the flash didn't work as expected. In brief playing, looks like the options are either turn on the pretty bright flashlight, or use ambient lighting- need further investigation.
Disappointed that after only a few hours of use, the battery was already down to 50% (granted, it was non-stop GPS usage, but still...) Would like to find handlebar mount as well as car, and desk cradles, especially considering the short battery life.
More to come.
ps- if anyone's looking for one, got mine through LetsTalk dot com- they have them for $20 for new or renewal on current contract (vs the $200 the Verizon store wanted.) I wasn't up, so mine was $80- still great in my book! Send me a pm and I'll refer you- supposedly we would each get a $25 credit.
The second one is it comes all binged up. Bing search, bing maps, etc. You can download the google equivalents from the market and use them instead, but the bing apps cannot be moved to the sd card or uninstalled unless you root the phone.
