Root [CDMA] boot loop

Yes i was on hboot 1.57 s-off, with factory rom. The last two days i have been recieving Radio Interface Resource Shortage while sending text, then no signal when trying to call out. After googling it seems to be common with virgin mobile and sprint. After searching post i found the thread "fix everything by turning your evo into evo 3d." Alot of the peaple were experiencing the exact thing as me, that are on vm so i tried it. The warning is not to atept on stock rom so i flashed Cool-ICS-v10-EvoC. It booted so i procieded to follow the guide. After very first step it got stuck in re-boot. But now i noticed that im on hboot 1.4. Also i tried to flash stock ruu still stuck in boot loop. My phone i thought was already a 3d cause it takes 3d pictures, apparently vm calls it evo. But everyone in the thread i was reading was on vm, thats the only reason i tried it.

It sounds like you have the Evo v. It is the same phone as the Evo 3d but called evo v on virgin Mobile. What ruu did you run? Was It the virgin Mobile one or a sprint one? I'm not as familiar with what roms you came flash to evo v but a lot of things are very similar between the two.

The ruu RUU_Shooter_ICS_35_S_Sprint_WWE_VM_1.13.652.1_Radio_1.06.00.0426_NV_1.53_144_release_259069_signed.exe
this has proven to work in the past. The VM in the title stands for virgin mobile which is what i have. But now im a little confussed, My phone is a 3d phone. so A. does the evo have 3d, If it does that would explain alot to me. But if it dont then B. whats the differance between the 2. And why is vm calling my 3d phone evo v. Is it same hardware with diffrent sowftware, or diffrent hardware with the same software, or just alike but diffrent phones all togather. I think im going to have to do the unroot guide and start all over inless someone could save me time. In the future do what files am i going to need to download evo v, or 3d.

Im at work now until 7am. I think im going to start all over and re-root, lock, unroot s-off. Is there an easier way.

First of all, before you root any device, you need to make sure which make and model phone you have, or you can do severe damage to your phone, I am surprise your phone still boots up, so if I am reading through your post correctly, you are saying now your phone is an HTC V from VM and not an Evo 3D Sprint?? I cannot believe you rooted your device without even knowing what exact make and model phone you have, I don't get that. Hope you are lucky and did not mess your phone up, the good thing is HTC phones are hard to brick, good thing you didn't flash a GSM Rom or you would be looking for a new phone. Please next time, before you do anything to your phone, ask your questions once, twice, and 3 times and then you can start doing what you want, don't get ahead of yourself, once you do that, then it is too late. ;)

Is this your phone below to make sure, this is a HTC V on Virgin

yes thats it, I have it back on stock rom using the above ruu. But now when i go to hboot recovery it has a red triangle tried to reistall twrp recovery still red triangle.

i have had gsm sprint roms, and when it boots it says sprint 3d, and everything worked allright. I am a noob to this whole phone thing I wont lie. I just thought that vm runs on sprint network thats why it worked. This is my second phone rooted using the 3d guide without any problems. The last one i even locked it and turned s-on. I have asked more than once if i need to download evo 3d, or evo v files.

Actually when i went to htc dev to get the unlock code for both phones i highlighted evo 3d and both codes worked. Im glad you told me theres a differance before it was too late. So do you sugest i go to evo v forum, and start over.

OK, I am at work now, so I don't have time to do this right now, but FYI, Sprint and Virgin are CDMA, not GSM, so make a note of that, and please remember that, you do not want anything GSM on your phone, if Brian or no one else help by the time I get a break from work, I will be back to come and help. ;)

Thanks man, but did brian used to be james. I only ask this cause james helped me out before now his post on my threads are brian.

I ended up un-rooting after relocking, un locking then rooting. Ill just make sure from now on ill only use evo v roms. thanks again.

Yes Brian is James, lol he decided to put his real name.

Ans yes you are always best to ask for help here in a thread, not PM's this way others learn also., Back to work Be back later ;)

So you got it all worked out?? Sorry, I was busy recording last night and then got to bed late. I wasn't able to be on the forums much.

Yes I am "James" lol. I just picked a random name when I signed up and decided to use my real name (Brian) instead. Since I have been posting so much it's weird to be called James all the time.

It sounds like you got everything worked out, but I'll be peaking in throughout the day if you have anymore questions.

To answer your question about the phones being the same.... People keep getting confused between the Evo 3d and Evo V. They really are the exact same phone. They just gave it a different name on Virgin Mobile... That said, there are carrier specific differences such as h-boot versions and probably radios I would assume. I saw that you found and ran the correct RUU for your phone!! Good job! I guess that's all I really have for now...

Now the question is that i followed the guide "turn your evo v into a 3d" Flashed pri prl radio everything on the guide. But dont seem the v has as many roms. So is it all right to flash the 3d roms now, or stay with evo.

Also i have an 8gb sd card, its saying im using 7gb of the 8. I have alot of the same folders. If i formate it can i save my apps with titanium. also what other files would i have to reinstal like super user.

I think it's safe for you to try. Just do a nandroid backup before you flash anything. Then if you get stuck in a bootloop or anything you can restore. And make sure you are flashing cdma roms and not gsm Roms!

It is possible your sd card has been corrupted. Back anything up onto your computer then boot into recovery and choose the format sd card option. See if that helps. Then put any files you want back onto the SD card.

Reformated using recovery still 7.2 gb being used.

Hmm try a format in your computer maybe? Honestly I don't know what else you can do to an sd card other than format it.... Unless someone else has a special trick it might be damaged? :/
