Root [CDMA] Changing phone numbers

Howdy all!
Is it possible to change numbers on a rooted (unlocked, S-ON) phone? I know (think) that you can't activate one, so thinking that swapping numbers is out, too.

Thanks in advance!

OK, to be clear, my wife doesn't care for the SGSII I got for her a month or so ago, and would rather have her 3VO back, but wants it rooted. She also doesn't to be without her phone for very long, so while she uses the SGSII, I'd re-activate the 3VO on my daughter's line, root it, then swap the phones on the two lines. Make sense?

Thanks!

i think you could do what you want by entering a 3rd phone into the equation, and calling sprints activation:

activate phone 3 on wifes line, kicking s2 out of the system
activate s2 on daughters line, kicking 3vo out of the system
activate 3vo on wifes line, kicking phone 3 back out of the system

it may or may not be easier to call sprint and involve them ;)

it may also be possible to make the cahnges online,im not familiar with sprint in that aspect(vzw's website will let you make changes/activate/upgrade,etc)

edit you also do not need the phone to be active to root. if the 3vo is not active now,you could save yourself some hassle possibly by rooting it,then activate on wifes line.

^^^ That is exactly what I would do, is root the 3VO and then activate it, problem solved. ;)

Thanks, all... Then my original premise about NOT being able to activate while rooted appears to be wrong, then, eh? :o I thought I had to activate while stock, THEN root... It does make it MUCH easier it I can, if fact, activate a rooted phone. (I love being a were-N00b, showing my ignorance only every so often!)
