Root [CDMA] Evo 3d rooting? Help.

Hey guys. im sure im gnna get alot of heat for posting about somthing "SOO EASY" but i dont care cuz ive made few attempts and ive failed.


before i ask the question ill jus give a lil backgrnd info so u can gettin a better feel for where im comming from.

BG INFO

-i use to have a evo4g.
-cool fone.
-suk battry life
- couldnt do shit without paying
ie. wifi teathering or w.e
-rooting didnt happen till they made the idiot proof way even then it didnt work right away but i finally got it threw.
-had cyanogen mod problem with that was my gps wasnt working which suked. ( im a dj. and so every weekend its a new venue i have to go to. i do have a gps. but taking it outta my car putting it in the cargo van and then at theend of the night as if unloading isnt bad enuf.. grabing my laptop bag. my dress cloths and my drink or food i got nd carrying tht with me isnt bad enuf. i dont wanna carry my gps unit n cables and put it back in my car...cuz i will forget it if i leave it in the cargo truck or in the house.--gettin off topic so lets stop.)
- am some what technologically inclined.

EVO 3d. hboot 1.40. or w.e it is.
im on andriod v. 2.3.3
and thas about it.

i need this thing rooted IF any only if ... there are more ups then dwns....

so someone PLEASEE repost letting me know if there are glitches with will eff up the capabilities and if there are more ups and i can get around the glitchs HOW CAN I ROOT this S.O.B. cuz i was on revolutionary site dwnloaded the package. unziped it. tried running the revolutionary.exe file the cmd prompt came up disappeared n nothing happend. so someone send help. it would b GREATLY APPRECIATED.

thank you all. ive been a part of 1000rr[dot]net forum and i know these forums are extremely helpful and they have their share of douche bags. so so i hope to run into some helpful people. thank you.

If you still have HBoot 1.40, then your life has been made much easier, check my Rooting process in my signature, and then we can take it from there. My Step By Step Root Process

don b. THNKX FOR THE QUICK REPLY. i will follow the link u posted. and see where i get.. while i m att it. ill sign up for the drop box thing too i already have drop box but if u get 250 extra. why not.=]
 
hey so i was trying to go threw the process and whenn i try to run the revolutionary.exe file or w.e which is suppose to open up the cmd prompt and give me the serial. number IT DSNT COME UP.. like the cmnd propmt comes for a sec and closes it self... so im stumpddd rite theree ....


ps. im using a MACBOOK AIR. WHICH IS RUNNING windows XP.. --- didnt think it would b a problem..

make sure that you phone has usb debugging turned on before connecting it to the computer. and make sure that it is set to charge and not as disk.
 
As Wake mentioned, some can get it to work with a Mac and others cannot, if you have access to a Windows PC give that a shot, if not then, I will research more for you, let us know. Even though your Mac has a windows based, some still have issues.

hey guys good news. i ended up gettin a dell. laptop. tried again and successfully got root. i see the super user icon n so im guessing im good to go......

now im trying to get some good looking roms on... i was in love with the cyanogen mod rom BUT im afraid there might b too many glitchs... can anyone suggest few must have apps after root.

other than wifiteather
other than titanium backup

are there any roms where it changes the look cuz i am kinda of gettin tired of the htc sense. and i have the launcher pro or w.e but its stupid as well. i was thinking something along the lines of cyanogenmod or something...... is something similar to to cyanogenmod available for the evo3d???


i downloaded rom manager and it gave me few options.. and so i dwnloaded the one tht had most dwnloads and the bootscreen changes but the rest of the look n feel of the rom is teh same as the default...
 
Yah, try MIUI I have it posted here, [ROM]MIUI.us 1.11.25 HTC EVO 3D CDMA [11-25-2011] Yeah!! make sure before flashing any new rom, that you create a nandroid of your current ROM for safe keeping
