Root [CDMA] EVO 3d screen problem.

Ok so this problem started last month wen I updated to clean rom ICS, I had run clean rom for about 8 and half months with no problem before hand, So Wen I saw they had made an ICS clean rom I jumped on it, it ran great the first day.

Now the problems begin, at the end of the first day it locked once (pulled battery and reset) then wen i got home I had 16% power left even though just before pulling the battery I had around 36%, Anyway, put it on the charger and it died on the charger. I then tried my friends battery, it booted but the screen was intermittent sometimes It worked sometimes not. After chasing my own tail abit trying to get sprint to do something about it, and calling HTC only find they would take 3 weeks just to send an email with an address that I could send my phone to on my own dime. I took the phone a repair shop, the man who ran it was nice enough to tell me that the 3D's screen has to sync with the voltage in the screen for it work right and that having gone from the dead battery to a fully charged one "freaked it out" so to speak.

So I bought a new battery, (anker 1900mhz) I put it in and for the next few days I charged and discharged it, over time it got better and better, untill friday wen it was running so well I felt it was fixed and ready to go back on the network. now I should mention that in the process of all of this I RUUed and restored and just about every "soft" fix I could find anywhere. I then installed D3rp ICS rom yesterday and it ran wonderfully all last night into this morning wen it then drained a FULL 1900 battery in less then 6 hours only by listening to music at idle with setcpu limiting cpu power to only 380mhz O.O wtf, now I cant hardly get the screen to react at all just like a repeat of last time.

Now it seems to me that with some tinkering I can get the phone to run fine with no "load" on it but as soon as I "do" anything (make a call, listen to music, etc) that puts the phone under any kind of load it freaks out and stops working.. what could this be guys? And I have tried running a nandroid.. same outcome both stock and rooted, what happened to my phone? Is it fixable?

Wow I've never heard of this have you proposed this problem to the devs at xda? Or maybe the dev for clean?

yeah, at this point I'm really guessing it's hardware, and the screen doesnt seem to be the issue because even though I dont know much about the hardware on these phones I can guess that the display doesnt care how much load the phone is under.

Anyway, I took the phone back to sprint again to switch to my evo4g and for ONCE IN A BLUE MOON the tech was really there, in the store lol Anyway, she told me something none of the sales people ever brought up.... For 35 bucks the'll replace the god damned phone... I was told by a manager before that without insurance they won't even touch a warranty issue... So a proTip for anyone trying to get anything done at sprint... ONLY GO WEN THE TECHS ARE THERE.... >.>... So yeah, new phone comes in tomorrow.

This would have saved me two and half weeks of BS... But no one at sprint said a damn thing, I've been in that store 3 or 4 times now. Not a damn thing with said, Was always told I was SOL... So a good thing to remember, only go wen techs are in store because the sales people are morons.

EDIT: only thing that sucks is now I'm not so sure I want to root the next 3d, because I know it was more then likely just bad timing with my hardware taking a dump and updating to ICS... but I'm now a scared to root the next phone lol

Hmm you updated to ics? Well that very well could be the problem since you shouldn't take OTA's while rooted. I'm not taking a risk in updating while rooted at least heard stories of making phones go nuts without unrooting while taking a OTA

From what I just read I also think it was hardware related, but hard to tell without the phone in my hand, well at least you will be getting another phone, I also would not be scared to root it, but it will most likely already have HBoot 1.58, so I do not know if it will be more complicated to do so.

oh, no dragon, I never ota lol ... if you look around there are tons of rooted ICS roms, I have tried clean rom ICS and "d3rp" ICS, both very nice, and I more then likely will root again, I never did learn to listen to that little voice inside me :P

I'll be sitting there the whole time going "mother of god! Please work~!" during the first boot after rooting lol

Oh okay misread it then lol agree its more than likely a hardware problem never even heard of that happening well hey at least they didn't find out it was rooted and your getting a new phone
