Root [CDMA] Flash or not to flash

ANDROID: 2.3.4
SENSE: 3.0

KERNEL: 2.6.35.13
BUILD: 2.17.651.5
HBOOT: 1.04.2000 PG8610000
RADIO: 1.06.00.0426

Well you can use the 2.89 build but it will most likely cause problems with a GB rom. If you want to update to 2.89 I would suggest using an ICS rom. You shouldn't need to update your hboot. Plenty of people stick with their old h-boot 1.4 and still use the ICS build.

If you want to try 2.89 I can post a download link and give you instructions on how to flash it.

I tried out ICS and ended up going back to 2.17 GB. I'm perfectly happy here at the moment. ICS has new features and new version of sense. I mean it doesn't hurt to try it out and see what you think. I think I just wasn't ready for the change. I like my GB just the way it is.

What I mean is lets say I use the Mean rom, what would be the difference:
a) 2.17 (GB) build + mean rom = pros/cons
.........compared to..........
b) 2.89 build (ICS) + mean rom =pros/cons
