Yeah, I defiantly want to get data and calls on custom ROMs. That was my first thought when I saw this. I'm gonna wait for SuperR or lost101 on XDA to make a ROM when the update comes out and make sure I like Lollipop and see what kind of bugs it has before I change bootloaders.Looks promising ... Still no official push of the Motorola Services Update app... The Motorola page still shows "Pending partner support" for Boost and US Retail. Hopefully its a sign that its in the pipeline though. I'm more interested in the source being released for CDMA variants so we can get AOSPA rolling.![]()
This is one reason I want to wait for a flashable zip that I can easily go back to 4.4.4 from. I think it's well worth the wait. I'm not unhappy with 4.4.4. The next best thing isn't always best.I'm all for lollipop on the moto g. But be prepared to have your app storage cut in half with art runtime. Our 4gb of app storage is basically gonna turn into 2gb...
I doubt it. I didn't. Motorola is working out bugs as far as I know.Anyone get the ota on boost?
Yeah I think I'll be waiting for a stable custom ROM or a trimmed stock. This is one reason I want to wait for a flashable zip that I can easily go back to 4.4.4 from. I think it's well worth the wait. I'm not unhappy with 4.4.4. The next best thing isn't always best.
Just got the survey email myself. (1317 Pacific Time)A Boost user on XDA just said they got an email from Motorola for an early OTA update. I told them how to prepare and to make sure they copy the zip. Hopefully there's no bugs and it will go out everyone soon.
Awesome! The OTA zip needs to be given to SuperR so be can make a rom zip and partition updater if he's still willing to. If not, I'm sure lost101 on XDA will.Just got the survey email myself. (1317 Pacific Time)
Haven't got the reply mail/link yet. Hey is it normal for stock recovery to show a dead android and an exclamation mark?Awesome! The OTA zip needs to be given to SuperR so be can make a rom zip and partition updater if he's still willing to. If not, I'm sure lost101 on XDA will.
Edit: is it 5.0.2?
Yes it is. I believe if you press the volume or power buttons you'll get a UI.Haven't got the reply mail/link yet as soon as I do I'll download it and capture it. Hey is it normal for stock recovery to show a dead android and an exclamation mark?
The update had not been put out yet. Some people have gotten emails about test updates if they signed up for it, but haven't received it yet. I don't know for sure if XT1031 and XT1028 will even use the update services app for the update or it may be a different version than what is out for other models.XT1028 here (Verizon prepaid version). Still no sign of OTA. Help app states that the OTA is for "all variants" but hell I don't even have the Motorola Update Services app, says not compatible.
If no one else does, I will definitely make sure you get it. I'm know a lot of people are looking forward to a 5.0 stock ROM.When it comes, it would be great to get the OTA zip and a system/boot.img backup![]()
The soak test is live, did you get the update yet? I really want that zip. I got the update services app but thats all so far.Yeah could take as long as a couple weeks for the test to actually start. So just a matter of time before folks start getting it...which its a lot easier to wait for something you're certain is coming... (Eventually) lol
