Root [CDMA] Help rootiing?

Will anyone be kind enough to help me root my evo 3d ? Ive followed the sticky link and this video,YouTube - ‪How to root the Evo 3d‬‏

I cant figure it out from the start. I belive I have everything I need installed correctly . When I go into cmd prompt it tells me systme cannot find the path.........

Id really appreciate it! Ive been trying since 2Pm

This is a temp root, not a full root and is meant for development. If you really want to try the temp root, there are a few packages on xda that are easy to use at your own risk. I posted a link in the swype 3.0 thread to the bat file I like
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1159354

Have you used adb before? It is not really advisable to root this method without an understanding of what you are doing

yes im aware its a temp root. I need it so i can tether. I will try the link you posted. I already tried 2 other ways and it didnt work.

Do u have htc drivers installed and USB debugging enabled? If u don't have these you will not beable to use any root method

If u do succeed in rooting try barnicle it is tested with this root method

Are using Windows Linux or Mac?
For Windows, It is easy as unzipping, putting unzipped folder on desktop and running the run me for root file. I just did it and gained root in less than a min. Try doing it again after rebooting your phone

im win 7. I clicked the run button and it looked like it was doing its thing and ended saying press any key. but my phone never did anything and isnt rooted

Try to reboot your phone and uninstall superuser and make sure you are set to charge only not USB drive

Barnicle is a wireless tether app in the market. When you run the file, it is also going to push the overclock file as well. Make sure you have superuser uninstalled when you try. I rebooted my phone and rerooted since my last post. It does work and is easiest method yet. Read the instructions in the op at xda and make sure you follow instructions to a t. This root method is still new and temp and buggy that is why there are no instructions here so u need to rely on xda for answers. If you can't root following those instructions then there is nothing I CN do to help sorry

all i did was reset phone its working! thank you so so much! i usually try wifi tether app, but it isnt working? I installed barnacle, it gave me a error at first then it made a recommendation and i clicked do it! now it works! so when i reboot my phone what do i need to do to re temp root it? plug it in to my pc and click run again/???

After reboot you need to reroot

barnacle stopped working. it says something like could not make binary executable? I didnt reboot my phone so it should still be rooted. any suggestions?

have you taken the ota?
Have you taken another ota?
what is your software version?
what is your hboot version?
have you rooted an android phone before?
is this your first android phone?
do you know what adb shell is?
can you get me screen shots of your phone?
are you sure usb debugging and charge only are on?
have you tried to uninstall su, pull batt wait 61 secs? put batt back in, verify 2 times usb debugging is on and charge only is selected?
does your hboot say s-off?
this is a volitle temp root and is for devs only there is no full root yet. i have no more help to offer.

Are you sure you are not having this problem again?
its%20working%20now%20i%20took%20it%20off%20disk%20drive%20and%20put%20it%20on%20charge%20only%20or%20something%20like%20that"]
its working now i took it off disk drive and put it on charge only or something like that

also please read this: it will help you understand
http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/129648-quick-intro-rooting-those-new-rooting.html

if you do all these steps and root doesnt work, then you may have one of the phones that is unrootable.

ive read the post on XDA, but it doent start from scratch
it assume you know ADB and have all drivers and such

so like to run the tool from Eugene, do i need to isntall ADB drivers first? do i need to install the SDK?

where is a tutorial that shows how to root from scratch?(meaning starting with no drivers, no sdk, no nothing?)

with the bat files you dont need sdk or adb but you do need the android drivers.
This root method is still in dev and is not finalized, just made easier. if you dont know these things i suggest you read how to use adb.

This root method is not for all

If you need to start from scratch then you should not be using this root method, if you dont know how to use the internet then you should not be using this root method. I will not help you brick your phone. there are many guides out there for this root.

By starting from scratch, do you mean that you want to root using fre3vo and the commands in adb or do u want to use a bat file that makes su sticky?
the general "i dont know what I am doing" post doesnt help any one

well first off im not a newbie
i just got my evo 3D on launch day, but had the evo 4G rooted and ran CM7, Fresh, and other roms, with no problems.

To fully root the evo was easy (close to one step) and was supplied with complete instructions on how to root from scratch.

I want to root this one here:
[TOOL 07/11] Easy Fre3vo w/ Perma-Temp, Bloatware Disabler & Overclock (Win/Mac/Lin) - xda-developers

so eugene in his post says to simply just run the .bat file and let it do his work. BUt other people say read up on adb first and know how to do this n that, rather confusing

where are the required drivers for win64?

From the creater of fre3vo's mouth:

Prereqs:
1. You must be able to push files via adb to your device.
2. You must know what a shell is.

see, like this
it says the prereqs
but doesnt say how or where to learn how to do these things

i just hate tutorials that come in on the middle of things
