Root [CDMA] How I achieved MMS on CM nightly 20140615

First I took a look at CM's apns-conf.xml in Notepad+.

Then I found & edited the apn 'Boost Mobile CdmaNai' (as that is the one that applies to my device) to read as follows

I then amended CM's build prop with 4 lines

When I rebooted all was well with MMS & carrier label

Don't know if anybody else has been following, but the thread over at XDA got a little out of hand today. dhacker abandoning the project because everyone whines and no one contributes.

He's come back saying there will be updates, but after some time off.

I am sure others would find this useful as well.

Anyways, I flashed Seraph's PA, let it update to RC2 and all I did was add 1 line in the build prop -

ro.cdma.home.operator.numeric=311870

No need to edit apns-conf on that one as the info in it will work but we still need to specify which one to use

I am sorry zenwafer, I meant I tried it like you said, and it worked on Seraph's pa.

So, it doesn't work for PAC ROM (Bummer) but it definitely works for CM11 :thumbup:

whoa!? it fixed the data issue on crom 7.1?? have you tested?

Here I made it a little easier for people. I had to put the files in zip to upload. This is not an installer it just the files you need to replace in stead of editing it yourself. Just unzip and replace files then reboot.

apns-conf.xml goes in /system/etc

build.prop goes in /system

try using hangout as default SMS.. MMS should work then

I am able to get through to voice mail now on crom 7.1

I have data and mms working in the messaging app now on cm11 nightly 6-26. Thanks to all who helped out

I am putting together a flashable in hopes to unify this fix for all the different builds out there. I already have the cm11 part finished and it is working, but I need a couple things if anyone has time.

1. I need a pastebin of the default /system/etc/apns-conf.xml for all the builds to see if the Boost line that needs editing is the same. If it is I am already finished, but I doubt it lol

2. @Tattooedgod did you get stock VVM.apk working or just the ability to call voicemail to check messages? If you have VVM.apk working with proper notifications, please provide details on how to achieve this so i can add it to the flashable.

Well that is unfortunate, because I find the 9016 text messages rather annoying lol

Here is the flashable that makes the changes to build.prop and apns-conf.xml. It edits the files rather than swapping them out so as long as the Boost line is the same it should work for all the variants.

edit: If the Boost line is not the same, it won't do anything so there is no worry about it breaking something

We got data on c-rom 7.1!!
We just don't have MMS
Not even working on hangouts.

EDIT: My assumption is that MMS doesn't work because c-rom isn't a cm base build anymore?
