Root [CDMA] How to enable SuperUser?

Hi, I am having some trouble finding a solution to this... i just finished Unlocking my phone and installed the TWRP recovery. Now how do I enable Superuser so i can uninstall junk apps? Thanks.
 
Thanks, I'll try it out and see if it works, as I would like to enable super user on the stock rom without flashing if that's possible...

I'm sure it's not harmful.

If it doesn't work, get back to me and I will try to provide a correction at the failure point.

But I will be somewhat surprised if it's needed. ;)

You're running Windows, have unlocked with HTCdev already using that same PC, correct?

And USB debugging is on?

By the way, which Windows are you using?

Correct, I followed the Newbie guide and I am unlocked. I am using the same PC which is Windows 7. USB debugging is also on.
 
If you would, please download our Mini SDK from here -

our forums' mini-sdk

There's a whole complex SDK listed, but just the Mini SDK, please. I believe that it will unzip as sdk-tools folder.

Go there, and please issue the command -

adb devices

And let me know the outcome.

Also, please tell me where you got fastboot for your HTCdev unlock if you recall and finally, is your Win7 32 or 64 bit?

Lotta questions, sorry, is what it is. :)
 
Looks like the adb they embedded was incompatible. Let's test that theory, please tell what happens with -

adb remount

If that is successful, I can put up a care package for you and hopefully get you going in a jiffy. :)
 
I issued then command and received the following...

C:\sdk-tools>adb remount
remount failed: Operation not permitted

I issued it before going into fastboot or anything if that is correct.

Ok, that's my bad - you'd have to either have the exploit in place or be rooted already for that stunt to work - sorry about that.

Let's test and see if the exploit will work for you anyway.

Attached is a zip with just four files. Please place all four into the same sdk-tools (Mini SDK) folder that you ran that successful "adb devices" from and then say runme.

Nope, it's not you. :(

The exploit used in that file works for the Evo 4G LTE and a number of other HTC phones.

Unfortunately, it won't work for the Evo 3D.

You have two alternatives -

1. Wait for me to build and test a TWRP-installable updater file that gives Superuser.

2. Install a rom. You can go with a stock rooted rom or something nicer.

Either way is going to involve flashing, so I'd strongly recommend option 2 - you'll be getting something that is already known to work, plus you'll get choices if you'd like to go nearly stock, but with some clean-ups.

Getting away from stock can be a little disconcerting at first - we've all been there - but there are many fine roms that actually work a bit better than stock. The cats here can give you advice on that (yes, I own a 3D, but I take their advice myself :)).

And you always have the option of just flashing a stock rooted rom.

From the other HTC users I've helped, I was sure that this exploit would also work for our 3D - sorry it didn't work out though.
 
Thanks a lot, I still appreciate your time! Last question for anyone out there, the official ICS Sprint OTA update was just released for the 3D last week. Are there any ROMs based on that yet? I'm really looking for something as close to that as possible, with the speed and battery improvements as well as the ability to uninstall their junk applications.
