Root [CDMA] Htcdev?

I guess Htc is getting for open source development once they turn s-off
HTCdev

Not exactly. HTCdev is an API for Sense. It basically allows people to write apps that work with Sense (think HTC widgets that only run on Sense and not Android). It's cool, but I fear it starts making things way too proprietary.

I would think their decision to LOCK the bootloaders was to allow HTCdev to flourish. Think about it: with an UNLOCKED bootloader, a user could flash Sense off the phone completely. That would not help HTCdev adoption.

In an ideal world (for us users), HTC would unlock the bootloaders and basically say, "Ok, we're giving you the choice to run whatever ROM you want, but Sense is so damn cool with HTCdev tools that you'll just stick with Sense." And then the users make the call.

you are right but if they unlock bootloaders, and sense 3.0 is awesome a little buggy but awesome none the less, and allowed us su abilities for stuff like add block, tb, set cpu and what not, and aslo give us the option to develop widigets and what ever we wanted to make sense better, it it would be the best of both worlds

First off id like to say once they get a root going I am going to root. I plan to stay with the stock rom and sence 3.0 only cuz I absolutly love what they did with the 3D. I agree that if they unlock our bootloaders thats showng the public they believe in their product that much. Yes, there will be people who dont like it and flash it off but, overall I think most people will stick with it so htcdev may actualy get more business if they unlock these bootloaders.
