Hello, I haven't root my evo 3d but from what ever experience I have my OG Droid (rooted) using clockwork recovery, it seems like your backup didn't load correctly. So from the recovery menu go to backup/restore and try to restore your original backup. Did you back up your phone before you installed the room right? Also let me give you an advice in case you didn't know. Try to use apps like titanium backup to save all your apps and data, it will also save things like texts and call logs. So even if you have to wipe the phone you will be golden with titanium backup.

Welcome to the forums!

But - sorry for the circumstances. :(

It seems like you may have managed to install an invalid Clockwork Mod.

The appropriate version for the Evo 3D is v4.0.1.5 - please confirm that you're running the Evo 3D and we're in the right forum. :) ;)

If so -

Strongly suggest you install the right CWM - here are instructions:

http://androidforums.com/evo-3d-all...lash-recovery-image-via-fastboot-sd-card.html

The ROM Manager is good for only some things - I've used it myself to update from 4.0.1.4 to .5 -- but - things are still settling out, and this is a new root.

I'm hoping that you were referring to a nandroid backup. :)

Once your CWM is squared away, you can restore your nandroid from recovery.

If you have something other than the Evo 3D - say - the Evo 4G or the Evo Shift - please let me know, I'll cheerfully move your post to the forum where you can get the right help.

While good advice in general, in my opinion, it's always best to clarify:

First do a nandroid backup before and after re-configuring roms and then back that up using Titanium Backup.

In this case, aside from the nandroid, that doesn't seem to apply tho... :(

The issue is an endless loop on recovery.

Ok, per our discussions -

You have an Evo 3D and you've installed TWRP now but when you try to access your backups, you're still stuck in a loop just going back to TWRP?

Is that correct?

i ca access my backups i click my backup and it says
----->Restore Naowz
system data
boot
recovery
cache
wimax
.android_secure
sd-ext
<------back to nandroid menu butno matter what i click nothing happens

While we're waiting for reinforcements to arrive - I wonder if the backup you have is really valid for use with TWRP? :(

Was it made with that CWM version 2.5.0.6 you mentioned earlier? Or with another one?

BTW - you said when you click, nothing happens - are you able to return to the previous menu?

It seems the problem started when you used an older version of ROM Manager to flash a version of CWM that isn't supported by the Evo 3D.

In order to restore your NANDroid, you need to remember which recovery you used to make the backup. Sounds like you used TWRP. Which means that you manually installed TWRP after you rooted (since Revolutionary gives you either CWM or nothing by default).

So you're saying that now you've manually flashed TWRP again, and it can see your NANDroid backup, but if you choose "Restore Naows" it doesn't do anything?

If that's the case, I think there's a good chance you won't be able to recover your backup. TWRP has gone through a couple of versions since Revolutionary was announced. You might want to flash older versions (ideally the version you used to make the NANDroid) and see if you can restore your NANDroid. Otherwise, you take the hit and flash a new ROM.
