Root [CDMA] Moto G Stock 4.4.4 and 5.1 Soak Tests {Boost Mobile}

Thank you mr dslack420. But forgive my ignorance. My phone doesnt power on. My computer wont recognize it when i attach the usb cord. I ve used a wall charger. Still wont show life. It would need to at least get to the recovery menu (motorolas not cwm) to attempt to use these tools. Right? Or once i start to try to send a signal to it using my computer. It'll boot up. I did forget to mention that my moto g felt hot when i turned it off for the last time. Do you it might have overheated burning it self out? Again thank you for replying and giving me your knowledge.

If it won't power on, I suggest taking it back to wherever you purchased it and hope they replace it.

Might I get some help on this? Seems things have changed in rooting sense i got my Galaxy prevail rooted lol.

Anyway, Tried to get the bootloader unlocked to flash CMW. According to the motorola site the unlock button would only show up if i could do it. I entered the bootloader code, it said i would get an email, never got anything.

Is there any other way to unlock it to flash CMW?? or perhaps im missing a step?

Thanks in advance!
Ugh... im a dork.. there was a space between a million 0s lol

I'm still getting the boot loop whenever I attempt yo install ANY custom ROM. Starting to think its just my phone! Hahaha All I can do about it is just laugh. My phone is being a douche and I'm thinking I might just leave it stock 4.3 and rooted with xposed mods. Im happy enough with what I have. All I wanted the deodexed ROM for was the extra storage for music, but I'd rather use Pandora and use what little space I have for my games. Thanks for always trying to assist me Super R I really do appreciate it. Now I wish my phone would just comply with my directives and accept the custom ROM! For now though I'll stay stock lol

Added flashable Mms.apk that shows the time text messages were sent instead of the time you receive them. The link is at the bottom of the OP. Enjoy :)

I'm really thinking about getting this phone but got a few questions, i was just looking at the list of removed apps and noticed this videos.apk file is that the video player? also wondering weather i could remove voice search, nextradio and photos just don't need them at all but looks like they were kept any particular reason, are they gonna cause issues if removed? last but not least this may be a dumb one will i be able to transfer apps stored on my pc to this phone plus how about d/l ringtones and wallpapers? this all i could come up with for now, any feedback would be appreciated thanks.

Videos.apk is Google Play Videos, not the video player. You can remove anything you want if you are rooted. There ways to transfer apk's to your device from your pc. I use ES File Explorer as an SMB client that connects wireless to an SMB server on the pc. You can also use ADB to transfer files. You can also plug the device in to your pc and use MTP. You can download ringtones and wallpapers.

This device runs Android, not iOS, so you can do anything you want ;)

First, I want to thank you for this thread. I am currently running the deodexed version.

My question is would you be able to make an even "slimmer" version of your deodexed stock rom? No motorola stuff, no quick office, etc.

Just a basic barebones stock rom with the minimal gapps for functionality? MMS functionality would be a plus.

Thank you!

I don't think I will make a slimmer version, but you can grab a root file manager and delete all the apps you don't want. I like Es File Explorer but any root file manger will work ;)

Thank you, I have done that. But I am afraid of deleting something that is needed.

I just thought it would make a nice addition to your selection in the OP. I like to start with the bare minimum and add what I want, rather than deleting what I don't want.

I know I could make a cwm backup, but this phone has precious little space the way it is.

Would removing apps from your zip work before flashing? I did this with the Marquee, but that is a gingerbread phone. Is there a list of things that are absolutely needed? There is a list of apps that details apps that can be removed, but again that's a different approach and not definitive.

Thank you for your previous response and for all of your hard work

You can make your cwm backup directly to a flash drive with an otg cable fyi.

Yes, you can delete apks from the zip before flashing. I have not verified all the things in the list you are referring to are safe. However, using the cwm backup and/or the removing files from zip and flashing methods should get you where you want to be.

Added a black version of the stock messaging app to the OP which shows sent time instead of received time. I also fixed the white flashable. There was an error when flashing that nobody told me about :p

I didnt try tge white one or would have let u knw lol but am dl the black one now

DOPE DOPE DOPE!!!!!!!!! Now my eyes wont b like ahhhh wtf in tha A.M.

Kinda confusing to unlock boot loader/ root with my internet connection:/ and way to do it without adb?

Your internet connection should not matter as long as you can download cwm. You will need to use adb to unlock the bootloader. As far as I know it is the only way. Once the bootloader is unlocked, use fastboot to flash cwm and then install a rooted rom :)
