Root [CDMA] Moto G Stock 4.4.4 and 5.1 Soak Tests {Boost Mobile}

it worked! and i installed this rom successfully with no errors, everythings cool! \(^_^)/ thanks sir! YOU THE REAL MVP. You've heard this a million times but thank you so much, my problem was solved!

Glad to hear it :D

I am having issues installing this. Any help would be appreciated.
CWM says something like "this update is for xt1031, you have a xt1034". I don't have a xt1034 though. I have a boost mobile xt1031. I double checked signature verification is OFF in CWM.

The asserts in the ROM check to make sure you are running xt1031. I am not sure why your device is reporting xt1034 if it's an xt1031. You can remove the asserts if you want to try it, but you will be doing so at your own risk as the asserts are there to prevent the wrong rom being installed on the wrong device.

Assuming you have a windoze pc, you can use a program called 7-zip to open the rom zip (do not extract it, just open it). Once open in 7-zip, navigate to META-INF/com/google/android/updater-script and open it in a program called notepad++. Remove the first 4 lines in the file and save it back to the rom zip. Re-flash and it will not give you the error anymore. Good luck :)

Please do as Kaat72 suggested because I will not be able to change your links on another forum when there are updates. Thanks :)

I'm hoping you'll be so kind as to make 4.4.4 zips when it finally comes out. These have been very handy!

Awesome, I've got my finger on the trigger ready to install your unmodded stock so I can OTA update. I've heard a couple things about trouble flashing recovery after updating other models and was worried about being stuck on stock 4.4.4 unrooted. Thanks in advance!

If someone wants to help make this process a lot faster you could flash the unmodified stock rom, flash the update K Rise posted, root the device, install cwm, make a backup, and upload the system.tar and boot.img from the backup. Honestly it may be a while before I can do all that so it would speed the process up dramatically. No worries if not :)

My girlfriends phone is stock just rooted + Philz recovery. If I can pry her away from it, I'll flash stock recovery and update it, I'll see what I can do.

If you get stock recovery on there, it would be a good idea for us to grab an img of the new recovery as well.

You may be able to flash the update from PhilZ. It does not look like the asserts check the recovery partition. I can't be sure though. If you flash it from PhilZ and it is successful, be careful when rebooting when it asks if you want to overwrite the recovery. Not sure of the wording exactly but it should let you know it is going to replace PhilZ. Don't let it lol

Ok, so I have rooted and made a backup. What files exactly should I upload? You said system.tar and boot.img. I've got boot.img and I've got system.ext4.tar which says it is 0KB but then there is also a system.ext4.tar.a which is 533,411KB. Should I just upload all of that?
