Everything says we'll get it.(If the Motorola information remains unchanged.) I just picked up this phone on a trade and I'm amazed at what a great device this is especially at its price point. Build quality seems great and performance is good. Wished I had come across this device before I had spent my money on a Nexus 5 lol.If we get the update, yes![]()
While I do hope you're right, boost hasn't been the nicest when it comes to updates. Look at how long it look for them to release 4.4.4. Not to mention that was a small update. On the moto g dev Facebook page they already have lollipop stock otas downloaded and installed. I smell a Boost stock ROM coming soon hopefully![]()
Cm12 is out but I'm really looking forward to staying stock with xposed tweaks. I'll gladly wait for some Super R work though. While I do hope you're right, boost hasn't been the nicest when it comes to updates. Look at how long it look for them to release 4.4.4. If you're just rooted/unlocked on stock will you be able to receive the OTA or do you need to relock the boot loader?
You can be rooted and unlocked and still get the updates. You will have trouble if you are deodexed or have removed any apps from /system/app or /system/priv-app
fastboot a custom recovery back to your device, flash one of the roms in the first post of this thread by following the instructions.help please. I was running cm11 on my xt1031, and i had no service bars and no google apps, so i installed the corresponding gapps file from the cyanogenmod forums and it put my phone into a perpetual loop of "unfortunately the process com.android.systemui has stopped working" i rebooted my phone and now it goes straight to bootloader saying that normal boot something another has fallen through. same goes for the cwm recovery i have. when i do manage to get lucky and the phone loads, i still have no signal, and if i reboot it it goes back to the bootloader...i just want to get cyanogenmod11 off of here, and put the stock one back. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thats the thing though, It wont let me into fastboot. always says it falls through.. ended up just trashing the phone. screen was cracked anyways =\fastboot a custom recovery back to your device, flash one of the roms in the first post of this thread by following the instructions.
How do I apply the partition patch?
I downloaded it but no earthly clue on how to apply it.
My rooted moto G was on 4.4.2, wouldn't update to 4.4.4, messed around with TWRP, hosed my moto G, now I'm stuck. You can read the boring details here... http://androidforums.com/threads/wont-update-to-4-4-4.892248/
My normal recovery partition is gone. I tried flashing cwm and philz recovery images using fastboot but my phone hangs on the boot animation when I try to reboot into recovery mode. When I flashed cwm, I got this list below the normal Fastboot menu...
Fastboot Reason: Volume down key pressed
USB connected
cmd: oem get_unlock_data
cmd: getvar:artition-type:recovery
cmd: getvar:max-download-size
cmd: download:0092b000
cmd: flash:recovery
Mismatched partition size (recovery)
It's only a list; they are not selectable. The last bit has me thinking that the partition patch -> SuperR stock ROM might help. So back to the question...
How do I apply the partition patch?
Is there another recovery I should try before throwing in the towel?SuperR partition updater is a zip file , which need to be flashed in recovery before flashing 4.4.4 zip made by him.
you need working recovery to flash updater zip and 4.4.4 zips
I believe that when you installed the custom recovery in the wrong place before, you overwrote another partition that you need to boot properly. Flashing back to stock with full stock firmware would be my suggestion. This thread explains how. Toward the bottom, there is a link to 4.4.4 firmware and notes about the differences in instructions from the OP.So, I sideloaded the partition patch using Philz Touch 6 recovery I guess.
Then I wiped/cleaned to install a new ROM. I then tried both the full/rooted .zip and the deoindexed .zip. The full one will not completely sideload to my moto g. It stops at 92%. I've tried it several times. Deoindexed loads and runs but when I reboot, I get the Moto animation (yay, I thought) and then a gray screen (F me, I thought). So nothing.
I tried to push the full/rooted .zip to three different directories (clockworkmod, TWRP, Download) but when I navigate to them there are no files !!!
I've also tried the Cyanogenmod latest but it just hangs at the boot ani.
So WTF? I really need a phone like yesterday. Can anyone PLEASE help me?
This is requesting your mac password. Instead, try just "./adb shell" then "su" once you are in the shell.Does anyone know the password for root access in the adb shell? I'm trying to verify the files but can't cd to any of them.
./adb shell (<-mac)
# ls
bla
shite
bitch
crap
clockworkmod
#cd clockworkmod
/sbin/sh: cd: can't cd to clockworkmod
su ./adb shell
password:
That worked !!! Thank you so much !!! Awesome !!!I believe that when you installed the custom recovery in the wrong place before, you overwrote another partition that you need to boot properly. Sadly there are 36 partitions on this device and the firmware only contains 8 of them. If you overwrote one that is not in the firmware it will be difficult to track down.

Wipe everything and reflash the ROM without Gapps. The ROM has Gapps already.Uh hi all. I wanted to use this rom (although not good at flashing). I used sideload to install this and used a new gapps (encrypting my phone made me mad so I factory reset it and my moto g lost its fricking os!) =(
After flashing, it said starting services, freezes, then reboots. Can anyone help me?
What firmware version (4.4.2/4.4.4) were you running before you wiped your system, and did you flash the partition updater?Okay. It worked, but now there's a problem with WiFi. When I put the password in, it says obtaining ip address. After about a minute, it says saved, then reboots like it did.
