Root [CDMA] netarchy Silverneedle 1.0 announced

does he have a change log for this? i don't see one on the main page

*edit: nvm, there is a changelog on the next post down. sorry, didn't see that

this brings back memories of my Evo 4G days.... F5ing netarchy's kernel thread to see if there's a new version.

So, at the risk of sounding stupid...other than overclocking (and I assume underclocking/volting?) ability, is there any tangible difference between this and the stock kernel?

Bah, I was going to try this, but with the new update, apparently it's throwing people into bootloops. So, guess I'll wait for an update.

Did you have any issue EarlyMon, or did you update to the new stock kernel?

I installed that and started it using before making the thread.

I'm already prepared for today's update. ;)

The bootlooping issue was found already, here's the deal - the modules for 1.0 are conflicting with things, and even tho 1.0 says it flashed, it really doesn't, if you haven't installed it before.

According to netarchy, the procedure is:

  • Install rom.

  • Install previous version, such as .3 or .5 (Test 5) of the netarchy kernel.

  • Immediately afterward, install 1.0.

I was able to go to 1.0 without trouble because I was already on Test 5 (that didn't have the install issue).

netarchy is working on the fix for this.

I'll be doing my update when I get free from my phone calls for work, then following the above procedure.

The 1.0 kernel says it's rev 2.6.35.14-yaddayadda. Today's new stock is 2.6.35.13-yaddayadda.

netarchy > stock, again. ;)

PS - Anyone suffering bootloops may be able to recover using the method described above.

earlymon, how is the update working with net's kernal? have you had any problems with it?

I flashed this over a fresh install of viper 1.3 this morning and its been working smooth and fast all day.

Very nice!
