Root [CDMA] Recovery, Kernels, ROMs and More for BoostMobile (10/16/14)

What's up guys, new to the boost mobile scene here, having some trouble flashing any ROM on this phone. I'm unlocked and rooted but always get into a bootloop when flash ing Roms. I then have to fastboot my way back to stock. Any advice?

I have never rooted a phone until just recently. I bricked my Kyocera Hydro, but I have a Hydro edge now, through Boost Mobile, I really want to be able to use my 3g as a hotspot. But after I bricked my other phone I'm terrified I will do the same to this one... Help, please... Thank you...

This thread is for Motorola moto g think you posted wrong place you might want to check the hydro edge section.

seems as though lego rom works pretty well, the only thing i've had an issue with is now it won't download any mms and i dont know what to change apn settings to to make it work. It runs quite smoothly actually. Battery life is decent if not better than stock(which isn't bad itself).

If your bootloader is unlocked, all you have to do is flash CWM, Philz or TWRP recovery .img with fastboot and flash the latest SuperSu zip with the recovery and your rooted. Just make sure you have the latest files to avoid any previous issues they may have had.

I don't think it is possible to root the Verizon Moto G. I could be wrong but it is discussed in detail within this forum. You will just have to dig a little to find the threads.
 
Just got this phone for $40 mint used and I must say it is darn smooth and fast! Antutu'd a total of 17777, which is very close to a stock Nexus 4. Way smoother than the Nexus 7 (Grouper), games play super smooth (my LG Optimus G which packs a Snapdragon S4 Pro and a score of around 22K can't run Racing Rivals as lag free as this device) and for a 5mp camera, outstanding quality. Can't say the [WiFi] internet connection is all that stable, but it reaches a good 1.9 megabytes per second tops so far which most phones can't pull off. Where was I when this device came out?! I'm hoping to see a good overclock kernel soon. A good 1.5GHz would me a more than sufficient "push" to the performance, but its already superb as is. I'm rarely a fan of Boost Mobile phones but when I did research on the specs (and when I saw this post before actually considering it 100% and the amount of ROMs and kernels it has which BTW thanks OP!) I had to get it and I don't regret it. Best $40 I have ever spent to date. I would love to see an Android Open Source Bam ROM on this phone, that would really be interesting.

Everything I have read at here and at XDA indicate that it will be next to impossible to overclock the G. Something related to the processor chip itself. But like you said, the performance is still impressive.

Thats a bummer :( maybe Qualcomm is scared people will turn this into a more powerful device. I mean as is, its pretty smooth. I haven't seen barely any lag at all. Gamingwise it does a pretty good job as well.
 
I was mentioning AOSB earlier and I noticed it's in the OP's list. Its an "unofficial" build (1.2.8) but over at AOSB there's an official build (1.3.5) for our device (Falcon) but no clue as to whether its for the CDMA version, GSM, etc. Anybody have any idea? I don't mind trying it out but my Moto G won't be connected to Boost until I pass it on to my mother, so I wouldn't be able to tell...
