Root [CDMA] Rooting and the Camera(s)

Will there have to be a new camera app to go along with say, a ROM like CM7 in order to use the 3D cameras? The ability to edit and add effects to the different pictures is another cool feature I'd still like to have as well.

this will all be unknown until they get into the phone to start cooking cm on the 3d. Yes, maybe, no all could all be answers. My guess is it would all be stock aosp, with the htc drivers modded to vanilla android. so, i guess what i am saying is stay tuned

Since 720 video recording does not work on C7 on the Evo I would sad NO.
Now the sense based roms which are also very good will probably have the 3d working.

If you remember, team win got wimax working on cm, and they found root for the e3d, so maybe they will being 3d to the 3d, i guess we all need to stay tuned

I am not arguing that it can not be done. This is the only 3d phone right now whereas there were multiple 4G phones that benefited from that reverse engineering marvel teamwin pulled off. I am by no means a dev so maybe it won't be that difficult.

it will take some time. First HTC needs to release the kernel source. That should give devs the knowhow to incorporate 4G, 3D camera, et. al into the AOSP kernel. Then they need to create the app on the OS side to use the features. It's not a matter of difficulty. It's just manpower and whether they have higher priorities or more "fun" things to do with their time
