Root [CDMA] Still cannot gain root access even after reflash

Lurker
So I unlocked the phone with the HTCDev, loaded the recovery img file onto the phone and was able to get into recovery mode. I then cleared the caches in recovery mode and fixed permissions, then flashed a ROM onto it and was unable to gain root access with superuser. I tried a few different ROMs, and only one of the 4 was able to show my binaries were updated in the superuser app. No matter what ROM I'm using, I am still unable to gain root access. I tried Root Checker as well, and it told me I'm not rooted.

Can someone point me in the right direction please?

Aloha Munch...What ROMS have you tried.
What Hboot are you on.
You may want to consider Re-locking and getting S-off with Juniperbears Wire trick....

I'm on hboot 1.58 and I've tried most roms that were in various tutorials, and the cyanogen rom. I might try the wire trick, or just forget about rooting the phone. The hassle seems more than what its worth at this point.
