Root Cdma vs gsm roms

if you're referring to the GSM and the CDMA evo 3Ds then I don't think that would work out. I looked in their thread on XDA the other day and They have a different hboot and probably different radios. Maybe if we flashed those we could but, I don't know ):

I'd say okay but you'd be safer if you make sure the updater-script is set properly you don't want things going where they shouldn't go

^This. I flashed a GSM ROM once, and it deleted the wrong partitions, due to the updater-script being different and basically. Long story short, had to run an RUU and get everything back to square one.

So if you DO decide to do that...my bet would be possibly use a CDMA updater script...change partitions...etc.

Also, radios won't be affected, unless you flash a GSM PG86IMG.zip ;)

I think i'll tinker a bit...lot of good info here, thanks for the replies!!

So what I gather is worst case scenario I have to run ruu...not a problem, ive done that several times:P

Just out of curiosity, why are you wanting to do this? Just for fun?

If it's just for a rom, aren't there plenty of CDMA roms to choose from?

Yes,
I had seen 1 I liked, but when I started looking through the gsm thread, I realized we (cdma) have most of the same flavors and way more selection!

So I haven't flashed one yet, but maybe soon

Exactly. Just dont flash a GSM bootloader or radio and youll be fine ;) you might accidentally delete your recovery partition though. This happened to me. Wrong /system was formatted. Oops
