Changing the screen

I know this is going to sound absurd, but would it be possible to for instance, buy a 4.3 inch (S)AMOLED screen and swap it with the DHD one?

Have you emailed Samsung to see if they do a 4.3" AMOLED display?...If you have, then you need to Email HTC after for the design specs.

Not a bad idea, I'll do it and see if I can get one Then its a matter of taking my phone apart and switching cables I hope

I doubt the GPU would integrate, the graphical drivers would need changing etc etc, this would not be like plugging a new monitor into your pc
