Charging

IS it true that the desire will stop charging once it reaching 100%?

So if you leave it overnight, sleeping for 8 hours, and your phone finishes charging after 3 hours, it will discharge slowly for 5 hours?

It will stop charging at 100% and then discharge until 90% and the it will start charging again. So the lowest you should be is 90& in the morning.

........................which is still not what I would call "quietly brilliant" design in a device with marginal battery capacity in the first place!

Mine is normally at 100% in the mornings, but i have seen 90% once as it started charging again.
I just left it a bit longer to get back to 100%, at least the battery is not likely to overcharge through a fault

I charge mine up everyday at work and then quite often have to charge it again at night, beause the charge is down to half way.

I honestly think that the battery life is so bad on this phone htc should provide everyone with a spare battery free of charge.

Mine's 100% always in the mornings too.
I agree it would be falling to 90 and then filling back up.

mine is at 99% or 100% usually,

I turn off APN overnight when its charging, but before i started doing that, there were a few times when it would say 100%, but as soon as i pulled the cable out it would instantly fall to about 95%?

now it never does that.

Always amazes me how many people leave their phones switched on all night. Can't see the point unless you're using an alarm clock app.

I have mine fully switched off and charging.

Well i use the alarm clock, but i was told for phones like the desire it does the battery more harm to keep turning them on and off, than it does too just leave it on all the time.

There's a lot of things in the world you'll be amazed at.
I like to leave my phone on all the time, thank you.

It always amazes me that anyone could be always amazed at how many people leave their phones switched on all night

Sometimes I use the alarm (Nokia would work with phone off, does Desire?)

I keep it on so I can be called if needed.
Do you disconnect your land line phone when you go to sleep?

Exactly some of us are on call in regards our jobs and need to be on hand while not wanting anyone to have our landline for when we are supposed to be left alone on days off.

Usually I leave my phone on and charging overnight. I have a battery graph app installed and I've just checked the graph for last night...

Once it had finished charging it showed as 100% up until 3:52am, by 4:02am it had dropped to 90%, by 4:27am it was back up to 100% and remained there until 7:12am, at 7:22am it had dropped to 90% again and had charged up to 96% when I unplugged it at 7:37am.

Now that is probably more than anyone needs to know but why does it seem to suddenly drop 10% within the space of 10 minutes?

Only time i ever switch my phone off is in the places where they post signs asking you too, my argument is why have a phone & turn it off may as well not get one.
