I think you'll find your anti-virus is somehow identifying the superuser.apk as a trojan. I've downloaded and installed all versions of CRR and found no virus.

Yours obviously detected a different file, but this looks like an anomoly rather than a real threat. hopefully!

That makes sense, AVs are designed to a standard protocol and aren't "smart" enough to differentiate between "good" and "bad" root mods.

Downloading 3.1.1 now, gonna do a full wipe and get it on!

Well, everything seems to be running smoothly on 3.1.1.

Being Remembrance Sunday, I haven't had a lot of time to play with it in the last 6 hours.

One thing I have changed is the kernel. I've reverted back to Siyah 2.2beta6, as described here:-

just to check something out. Nothing to do with the ROM though.

I'm surprised the BLN mod always seems to be one of the last to get put up onto the kitchen. This happened when Revolution when to CheckROM too.
I would think this would be one of the "must have's"

I've got the KI4 BLN mod of course but I doubt if this would work here,

I use the bln app from the market. Never installed the mod from The kitchen and it works perfectly. Was free of course.

For bln to work you need 3 things:

1. a bln compatible kernel (eg siyah, nimph etc)
2. a bln mod applied to your rom. This can either be pre-cooked into the rom, or applied as a patch. As far as i'm aware, this mod is not standard in checkrom. It isnt in the changelog, and always has been an post-install mod.
3. the bln app from the market (ie. neldar)

Perhaps. It may cure your problem, but ist not guaranteed this is the cause.
try clearing data etc for kitchen app and uninstall/reinstall first. if this fails, go for it!

As for full wipes, I always do one when installing a new rom, whether or not its a different rom i'm putting on or not. I only ever once installed on top (checkrom 2 to checkrom 3) but i did a full wipe for v3 to v3.1.1. I just think it gives you a huge peace of mind doing this first, and getting your phone back up to normal state only takes 10 minutes so its a small price to pay indeed. During this 10 minutes gives you an immediate chance to notice any small differences in the options etc of the rom you just installed.

By the way, I'm not entirely sure some of the mods installed from the kitchen are actually installing.
For example, I installed the ad hosts mod as one of my first mods. I ran faster fix a few minutes back and noticed an ad at the bottom, so I tried re-installing adhosts from the kitchen and thought I noticed an exclamation mark quickly appear on the screen before the screen went blank. Faster fix still had an ad.
So I installed the zip manually, now no ad in fasterfix.
I've now re-installed the camera mod manually too now, just in case.

Not tested it with 3.1.1, but I've always downloaded this mod as previously, it did seem to improve the quality slightly on lower-lighting conditions.

Did it actually update, did you check "unknown sources" in settings

Woo! Version 3.1.1! Gonna try this tonight (hopefully). I'm still on V1.0 since every V2.0 I tried kept being a bad zip file. Here's hoping that's fixed in the new version. Cannot wait to update!

I'd do a wipe but I don't like the tedious backing up and restoring. Some things always go missing
