Root ChevyNo1 - Ssx 1.1 ROM

I have, just finished actually. Worked like a champ. I did have to modify some things. The SSX rom themes the gmail and vending(market) apks, so I had to extract the vending apk from the apex rom and install it, and I just used root explorer to delete the gmail apk and reinstalled from the market. If I see any other tweeks, I will post them.

just noticed the phone icon in the dialer is blue as well, not a big issue. I guess I could do the same thing and replace it if it bugs me.

edit2: I did not wipe before I flashed so if you are coming from apex or another rom that utilizes the mms.apk(aosp) instead of the messaging.apk(stock dx) then you will have to delete(freeze) the one you don't want as it will give you double notifications
 
the biggest problem I had with this rom was the home button didn't work...I loved the icons the boot image and a the ability to keep the useful and "pretty" blur. Hopefully in the future I will try switching back, but right now Apex is more my style
 
Your welcome! Btw chevy, first run of quadrant on this rom 1882!!!!!!!!! and that was before I deleted all the bloat! :D

Yeah...I've had the same issue since day one with this ROM but I'm pretty fond of it and am sticking with it anyway.

Chevy posted the AOSP email.apk on another site and said you can push it to /system/apps but I'm a little too green to be trying stuff like that (I assume you have to do that in terminal). Wish there was an easy fix.

The only other issue I've had on SSx 1.0 is with Handcent. It used to work better than stock messaging after 2.2 (fixed time stamps, keeping texts in order, etc.) but even after daily updates of the app, it now has incorrect time stamps & will not send/receive MMS.

I had the same problem coming from rubix 1.6. I flashed back to stock then to Chevy, haven't had any problems since. This also fixed other issues I had like no longer having unlock the phone to gain access to the home screens.
 
Anyone else have troubles with Launcher Pro recognizing the SD card? Everywhere else it's working fine, but when I try to backup my screens in LP it says no SD card. Never had this happen before.

I had to uninstall, then reinstall from the market. My titanium backup of LP never takes. Was getting the same error.

Great rom btw. The custom battery settings actually work on this rom compared to fission. Got data set to turn off after 15 min of no use. Down only 10% after 4+ hours of use today. Only question is, does anyone know how to get the battery % to show 10% increments? It looks like its showing 20% increments right now.
 
I am only getting Qudrant scores in the low 1500s but the phone seems way faster than that, web pages load really fast. Pre ROM I was getting higher scores and yet the phone seemed slower.

I'll try to throw Revolution on top of this later today.

So far I love it!
 
Been trying this ROM out for the last two days and really like it thus far. It comes heavily themed with blue accents that are really clean. I would definitely suggest it. From browsing his forums, it seems his D1 roms are pretty popular and hopefully he will keep putting work into this rom. One feature i really would like is one he has on his d1 rom--music controls that work with the screen off. i.e. camera button is pause and long press of volume up is skip to next song
 
I keep going back to this ROM as it works perfectly for me. Been trying RunbiX 1.6 but have been unable to get voice commands to work and that's a showstopper for me.

I wish there was a theme for this ROM though!
 
Back to this one again.

Couple of Questions. Anyone using a theme over this? I saw someone post revolution, any others?

Also who is using LP on this inplace of ADW? Is it easy to switch out? I came back to this and while I have gotten use to Blur HOME. I wondered if LPP works that much better here.
