Root ChompSMS

[savoxis]

I use ChompSMS and love it, but I have come to find it relies heavily on the stock MMS app to send and receive.

Has anyone found a MMS app similar to Chomp that doesn't use MMS as a backend? It doesnt seem very efficient to me running 2 services to do one task

I was always partial to Handcent, except I'm pretty sure it runs your stock mms also. I do like the fact that ChompSMS allows you to buy credits and send messages off of other towers than verizon. Check out Parandroid messenger, it may run differently than the two mentioned previously.
