Choosing The Right Screen Protector

I hate anti glare ones they ruin the quality if the screen. I live ghost armor way better than zagg. Zagg sucks. Too much orange peel

I respect your opinion and I don't care if people buy a zagg or not, I'm happy with it and that's all I care about, but I have to disagree with the orange peel comment. Neither of my zagg's feel "greasy" or have a glow to them. It could be because I'm constantly cleaning them, who knows.

I plan to buy a screen protector, though I'm not sure from where, yet. I don't want to get one of those ones that require you to wet it or use some kind of solution to apply it, though. I prefer static cling, as that seems like less of a hassle, and if I ever need to remove it, it shouldn't leave any residue behind.

I dunno, lots of people claim the screens on these devices are pretty scratch resistant on their own, and for all I know, that's probably true. I'm just really paranoid about that kind of thing. *shrug*

orange peel has nothing to do with being greasy. If you look at the zagg closely it has slight "bumps" all over it. I've used zagg. And it literally started to slide off my droid after 5 months. If you like zagg. You will love ghost armor. Just an opinion and IM not attacking your love for zagg at all.

I had great luck with my Phantomskinz on my Captivate. It stayed on, looked and felt great until I took the first one off in January after I dropped the phone and scuffed the protector. I took it off and replaced it with the second one they sent for free.
No orange peel and it was cheaper than both Zagg and Ghost Armor.

FWIW, I emailed HTC about screen protectors. The summary of what they said is "don't". They use an extra hardened screen that shouldn't need a protector. The use of any screen protector could decrease touchscreen performance and accuracy.

No I know, no worries. It's just strange because I've never had "bumps" on either of my zagg's and the one on my Inc looks the same as it did the day I put it on 6 months ago. I will definitely give ghost armor a look, though. Thanks for the advice

Thanks for the advice, everyone. Like UCGoody1, I opted for the SGP Steinheil Ultra Crystal through ebay.

I'm using a screen protector and I don't notice a difference. I feel safer with it on. :) Plus the slightest hairline scratch would drive me insane!

I used boxwave screen protector on my incredible, but I got to tell you..I wasn't worried about the screen being scratched. I didn't like the finger prints or the glare.

Every phone I've used a screen protector on has worked fine. I don't see the issue.

I bought a Zagg screen protector yesterday, and I don't really like it. I will keep it since I paid $20 for it, but I like the smooth slick feel of the screen, and like a pp said, it is that ever so slight orange peel look/effect when you look at it at a certain angle. I dont' feel like my finger glide as smooth/as easily on the Zagg. I didn't want to wait to have something come in, everyone around here was out and BB just got the Zaggs back in stock when I went in yesterday.

Lifetime ZAGG warranty from best buy. If they don't install it perfect, they redo it for free. Slid down a bit so I will be getting a new one when i feel like going over there.

just picked up the crystal clear off of ebay and should have it by this weekend... i hope you guys were all right! i had zagg on my OG droid.... i just didn't like the feel on my fingers

Quit using them when I say a video on mh original Droid where a man took his keys and rubbed them over the screen without a scratch. Never had a screen scratched or damaged. My opinion it is a waste of money.

Wrong, thunderbolt screen is not the same thing as original droid, trust me when I say that. Unless you take super good care of the phone then you probably wont need it, people that are going to not be as careful as I am usually they most likely will need it.

I think thunderbolt screen will get scratched if you dont take care of it.

Try it on thunderbolt and trust me it will not be the same experience as the original droid.

I hate to sound like a broken record or a shill for them because I am not but phantomskinz are in my opinion much better than Zagg.
The feel of a phantomskinz is much closer to being without the screen protector than the zagg. It's night and day. The phantomskinz are really almost like swiping your finger on the bare glass. I actually slightly prefer it to the bare glass and as a bonus it protects the screen similarly to a zagg. It's the same type of material just with a different surface to it.
If I didn't like them I wouldn't have ordered two more, one each for mine and my wife's thunderbolts.
They are pretty easy to put on, if you mess them up just take it off, put it back in the water and clean it off and try again.
If you somehow mess the screen protector up they have been sending 2 for the price of 1. Just try with the second one.
They're cheaper than Zagg as well.
If you decide to get one look around for a coupon. There is always one floating around for them.

Thanks, I will definitely look into it. I still don't love it, I hoped after a few days of it I would.

can anyone post a pic of what the phone looks like with the protector on vs with it off? I would look it up on the internet but i dont feel like it lol.

This is the Zagg, if you look close you will see a tiny bit of texture to it. This helps hide finger prints.
