How is everyone's holiday shopping and decorating going?

Got my tree put up and decorated on Monday. Finished my shopping for my daughter yesterday, and got all of her gifts wrapped today. Now I just have to finish my shopping for the wife (1 gift to order online, and 1 in store) and I will be completely done. Earliest I have ever been done with all my shopping, decorating, and wrapping! :D:cool::D

Lucky you, I'm the worst at Christmas shopping. I always end up waiting until the last two weeks before Christmas before I start shopping. It's a terrible habit, but I just never seem to get it done in time.

^ Me too. I think I wasn't done until either 1 or 2 days before xmas last year. Oops. And I suck at wrapping. I seriously need a man page for that.

I am super picky about my wrapping, I am a perfectionist.

It also helped this year that we didn't get our daughter a lot of stuff, just a few really nice things (HD Canon Video camera, iPad 2, Xbox 360 with kinect) and a couple other small things. Going to look at finances and might pick up a small tv for our daughters room, but going to wait a couple weeks and then decide if we want to do that or not.

Man can I be your kid?

Not doing much this Christmas.

I have that same problem. I even got some shopping done the day before eve. But I'm going to try to better this year. I already know what I'm going to get for some.... just gotta dread my way to the mall >.>

How old is your daughter? (not to sound like an online creeper, just curious as I get the impression that those gifts are for different target audiences, which really doesn't mean anything).

I don't want that to sound like I'm criticizing, Those gifts sound really nice. Especially when you think that the camera and ipad could be used together as a nice way to share videos.

She is 10. She is always trying to use my iPad for games, and she wanted the video camera so that she could make videos of herself to watch. She is really into acting and already has an agent and manager. She has been in a short film already and we are hoping to move to Hollywood this summer for her career.

How is everyone's holiday shopping and decorating going?

Not doing anything actually, as it's not a holiday. A few stores will put pictures of Santa Claus up, maybe some tinsel and the odd tree, but that's very much it. Although I had some of the school students singing carols in English last year, probably will be the same this year.

There a good thing about having Christmas in China, one doesn't have to suffer listening to that dreadful Slade song over and over again. :)

From Wikipedia..
Notable countries in which Christmas is not a formal public holiday include People's Republic of China, (excepting Hong Kong and Macao), Japan, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Thailand, Nepal, Iran, Turkey and North Korea.

Spring Festival is what I'm looking forward to.

That is why I like an artificial tree, no need to buy one every year and less mess to clean up

The misses is a big whiner. No real tree and I have to listen to her complain for a month. This is just the easy way to shut her up lol, plus our kid loves the tree.

The things we do to keep the women happy...

On a similar note, for those still looking for a perfect gift for the misses, I just ordered one of these: Love Is A Rose NEW! The 11" Holiday Rose w/ Vase

I got the platinum trimmed burgundy rose with the wood vase. Only $130 including shipping.

I haven't even started Christmas shopping yet. Hopefully next weekend. Times are rough so I'm not buying much this year. As far as decorating, I'm more excited helping my mom out than doing my own home. Lol

I prefer the artificial tree too, but the smell of pine is pretty nice. And if you pick out the tree with the kids it's a whole little holiday tradition. (just make sure there are no birds nesting in the tree ;) )

I do like the smell. There should be a glade plug in that is Christmas tree scented to plug in where you plug the tree in.

:) or a green pine tree car freshener lol

Glade should do that. It could be an ornament! I million dollar idea there? Maybe. But, it's out now and free (as far as ideas go).

I just had a great idea... Put a couple pine car air freshens in my fake tree :D
