Help CL14 Over the Web??

Yeah- I did the update- it simply would not work on Win 7 Pro 32-bit. The drivers failed to load when I plugged it in, so I had to manually install the drivers for the Samsung USB composite device & Samsung USB Modem. Even after that, with the update program recognizing it was on com8, and telling me to click next, it gave me a error that it couldn't open the serial port. I gave up and tried it on XP SP3 32-bit, and it worked like a charm- no problems at all.
It still says firmware 1.5 on mine, but the baseband version is now ends CL14, as does the build number- so this was just a patch to 1.5, and not 2.0?
For those with windows 7- has anybody tried the virtual XP mode to install this? I was going to try it as a last resort, but since I had the machine with XP lying around..

According to Sprint it should work on the 32bit version of Windows 7. Actually, Sprint just lists it as compatible with Windows 7, but I suspect they never tried it on a 64-bit system.

well, I'm trying to update my mom's....and it's stuck where it says "updating! do not disconnect!"...at 2%, it literally never even got started....

Note: If you have any existing Samsung USB drivers on your computer, you should uninstall them. The software update will install the latest drivers that you will need. To uninstall:

Go to Start >Settings >Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs

Scroll down and look for Samsung USB Driver. If a Samsung USB Driver 4.40 or earlier is installed it will need to be removed by clicking on it and selecting the Change/Remove button

You will see a window showing you to reinstall or remove the drivers. Select Remove USB Drivers (MCCI 4.40) and click OK.

Once it is finished, click Next, select to restart your computer for the changes to take affect, and click Finish.

Its right on the support page where you get the OTW DL from =)

Just disconnect it anyway, pull the battery, reboot your computer, then put the battery back into the phone and do it again. It will work the second time.

I had that same problem on 32-bit Windows 7. It just sat there... I waited like 5min, pulled the cable, killed the program, and started over. It took this time, and was done in less than 5min.

I had problems getting the drivers to install, but I didn't pull the battery to start with like the instructions said. Once I pulled the battery and tied again I finally got the drivers to install properly in Windows 7

Just successfully performed the update. Took 15 minutes (excluding the time to redownload apps). Followed the 5 page pdf instructions from the same place I downloaded the file. Painless.

I'm not sure what had happened. I went to my Mom's laptop with XP, and still had to restart the laptop twice, and the phone a half dozen times to get it to finally work. Looks like the update's on...we'll see if she likes it. At the very least, she shouldn't be in India anymore, right? lol

I did the update...Installed quickly and with no issues. NOW...I have no GPS! I'm ready to slam this phone against the wall!!!!!!!

I ran the first software under XP SP3 compatible mode. Then ran the flash under 7 Pro 64-bit with no issues. Just followed the steps on the screen and it flashed with no problems.

Just wanted to say I am running Windows 7 64-bit... the update worked fine on my moment. So glad I held off going to a store; now I just hope 2.1 will be via PC too.

Worked great; took about 10 minutes from start to finish on XP SP3...then another 30 mins getting all the apps reinstalled, backgrounds set, ringtones, etc, etc.

Yeah, so the key is to follow the directions. All of you that are having issues I suggest you reflash and follow the directions precisely.

Wow. After getting all my apps/widgets/email back on my moment, I was really surprised how fast it ran and everything seemed so "snappy".

Okay! Im trying to do the otw update and the computer doesnt detect the phone/usb driver and my phone screen says do not turn off target... What do i do??? I'm running windows 2000

Did MyBackup, updated the phone and restored everything with MyBackup. Worked perfect the first time. My computer has Windows XP 32-bit. Back-up to restore was about 20 min. Now just waiting to see if my battery can get through the day now. ;)

Just updated the wifes phone a few hours ago. Piece of cake. So I've updated/configured 2 phones in about 20 mins each and I completely don't get why the Sprint techs couldn't figure this crap out on day one.
