well, after i rooted my phone with gingerbreak, i have gone a lil app/rom crazy.
just want to know if any are the same or useless, due to me not being so tech savy.
installed;
battery calibrater (still havent used and phone life sucks B==D.)
busybox (i know i should keep this)
custom android font (able to use romtoolbox free fonts)
romtoolbox (nice to freeze, but like tibu, cant delete/uninstall)
rootexplorer(keeping)
setcpu (dont think its overclocking crap)
superuser (staying)
Ti backup (has everything backed up from first sec it was rooted, EVERYTHING. just cant find apk's)
tubemate

again, curious if any of these are not worth it, and if i should just can them. i've used rootexplorer to manually delete the bloatware, ive got a file on the laptop that has all apk's and other odex? files/apps.

also, sdmaid is currently downloading, but how can i actually overclock my phone? even with setcpu at 1000 on max and min, it still seems the same?

thx in advance

Battery Calibrater - I've never used it, couldn't say.

BusyBox - Yes, keep this. It's needed for root control.

Custom Android Font - Keep this for your fonts, if you wish.

Rom Toolbox - Great app, but I freeze/remove apps with TB. This is a keeper on my phone.

Root Explorer - Another great app. My preferred file explorer.

Set CPU - Should work fine. I used to use it before flashing CM7 (which has it's own OC options.) Your phone will either max out around 710 or 748, depending on whether you have a lazy Ascend or not. Push your min back down to 300ish, it's not going to be good on your phone to keep it up like that, and it certainly can't do your battery any good. Just remember that the Ascend is a low-end phone. It's a great phone, don't get me wrong, but it will never run like a high-end phone. Over-Clocking helps, but the difference is pretty minimal.

SuperUser - Keep this. Needed for granting and saving root permissions.

Titanium Backup - One fine app. It doesn't save as .apk, instead it saves in it's own format. You need TB to reinstall the backups on your device. This is the app I use to freeze or remove bloatware.

TubeMate - I've never used YouTube downloaders, don't know anything about it. It's the top downloader in the market, so it shouldn't be too bad of an app.

battery calibrators are a waste of time n space all the others are good cept for tubemate, never heard of or used it.

Tubemate is useful if you que up some downloads for later.

Set CPU is useless on stock roms (only cm roms are overclocked last I checked)

Titbu can be deleted if you aren't using it.

Calibrators are useless. Battery stats can be reset via cwm.

I replied before but I guess it didn't go through.

thanks guys!
i still got to go through it.
im trying to decide if i like tibu or rtb better.

anyone try zeam launcher? im using it now, i liked it for its tiny size, no fc issues so far, seems smooth, just lack of customization.

also going to read up on the cm7 stuff. seems like the way to go. just got to find my usb cord.....
thanks again guys!

i cant stop switching from zeam to adw. adw isnt as choppy as before, and i can customize the crap outta it.
the cm7 probably wont work for my phone, i cant find my usb. it does seem a bit intimidating though. maybe when i get my refund. the ascend is my test dummy for rooting and such, im planning on getting the lg esteem and playin around with that now that im a bit more comfortable.
