Root Click rooting your LG Optimus Elite

Flashing th jcase firmware should work, but you'll be back to the ZV4 firmware. Then if you want to update to ZV5, you'll lose root and then have to use giantpune's method to get root back. If you want to run ZV5, I'd just root with giantpune's method.
 
I was rooted a while ago, then accepted the OTA update because I'm a fool, and lost my root status.

Followed the click-through root and now Root Checker goes back and forth between telling me I'm rooted vs. not. There's no telling what it will say from one second to the next. I can start my rooted apps, but they don't work because it doesn't "stay rooted" for long enough. Not sure if anyone has insight, but figured I'd point it out in case it's something to fix in the program. :)

Also if I try to run the LG Optimus Elite Root v2.0 and try to verify the phones connected, it does not show up anymore. Restarted phone and computer.

Any ideas?

Figured out my issue, somehow my LG drivers for the phone disappeared. Reinstalled drivers and now rooted.

Thanks for spending the time to make this to root our phones.

at that spot i had to reset the usb drivers i got past that but no love see my post

yes you can stop the loop and bricking but i have to fine the link hold on looking as i post this G:") its a link i used for my Asus TF101 Tablet EasyRecoveryV0.4 its a bat file my need some editing helped me:smokingsomb:
 
I get this before I have to "reboot" during root.

Exploit was "Successful"

And to the person who asked, in the zadig menu you choose,CDC seriasl interface 0, lg android USB interface 2 and lg android USB interface 3. And bricking is highly unlikely with this method but anything is possible.

So do I change them all to WinUSB (libusb-1.0) lilbusb-win22 libusbk or WinUSB (Microsoft)
I'm just really lost at that part =/
 
I'm going to start at the point where you open up the zadig window. At the top you will see a menu called options, click on that and then check the box called "list all devices". Now, assuming that your phone is in diag mode, there will be a dropdown box in the top half of the program that will list a bunch of things when you click on it. You need to click on the drivers I stated earlier, then click the button that will say either "install driver" or "replace driver". Do them all individually. Once they get finished, you will then finish the rest of the process.
 
Make sure that in the first step, that " ln -s /data/local.prop /data/img/image.bmp" runs. You might.want to try and do the manual root for now, ill be back home after this 19 hour car ride is over, and then ill be able to patch up bugs that people are having. I'm really sorry about the glitchyness :/
 
I meant that whole line needs to run in the program.... " ln -s /data/local.prop /data/img/image.bmp".... that's all one command.
 
This is a simplified version of the manual root, this is assuming you have all the drivers setup and your files are in the right place.


adb shell

$ rm /data/img/image.bmp

$ ln -s /data/local.prop /data/img/image.bmp

$ ls -l /data/img

$ exit

adb install -r Ministro2.apk

adb install -r LG_OE_DiagMode-debug-unaligned.apk

adb push su /data/local/tmp/su

adb shell am start -n org.kde.necessitas.example.LG_OE_DiagMode/org.kde.necessitas.origo.QtActivity

Then press the enable diagram button on the phone and continue on.

Now your phone will reboot, wait until it gets to the virgin mobile screen and continue on

# chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su

# chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su

# mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system

# rm /data/local.prop

# exit

adb reboot

Now youre rooted
 
Thanks for that post, I think I'm going to wait to root my device, I have rooted about 4 of these phones using the jcase method, I tried manually rooting this but I get rm failed or permission denied
 
ok so i was going to give the program another try and before i had installed root necassary apps for when my elite was going to be rooted. i tried it the first time and it didnt work and i got stuck in bootloops fixed it and i was done tampering with my phone. The next day out of curiosity i tried it again and boom it worked. my phone rebooted and said superuser has denied all teh apps i had got. At first i thought it was all a glitch but checked root checker and it said congrats root acess. :) Thanks for the program was giving it some doubts but pulled through.



what exactly i did

I opened program and skipped to giantpunes root cause i did the other yesterday which were a sucess. I finished the steps and the program forced closed. I tried the other prot on my computer and ended up with error like libusb and the phone was stuck with bootloop. Then connected the phone to the other port then downloaded the LG OE Ultimate Rooting Guide v1.6 PDF file and then opened cmd to and typed in cd C:\android\platform-tools\
then looked at the pdf file and followed the steps starting from 12. This is exactly what i inputed.



adb shell
mount -o remount,rw /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
cat /data/local/tmp/su > /system/xbin/su
chown 0.0 /system/xbin/su
chmod 6755 /system/xbin/su
mount -o remount,ro /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /system
rm /data/local/tmp/su
rm /data/img/image.bmp
rm /data/local.prop
exit
adb reboot



:D still a noob and not sure what i did to make it work but hope it works for others
 
not so cool anymore rebooted the phone and now stuck in bootloop tryed the method i used earlier and still stuck no one should try what i just did. says operation not permitted and read-only file system any help?

What did you do exactly?

Did you install any apps or make any other changes before this recent reboot?

What exact method did you try and what were you trying to accomplish?

Where does it say operation not permitted and read-only file system? When using ADB? On your phone? Upon booting?

Try rebooting your phone, perhaps turn off your phone, remove the battery and put it back in. Try rebooting your PC, changing USB ports and waiting for all the drivers to reinstall on that different port.

Any of us will probably need more details in order to help.
 
When I first root phone I uninstalled mobile I'D and launch:per (I shouldn't have done that). I wipe the cache in recovery mode and then reboot it worked and the phone is still rooted though the screen is black because I uninstalled launcher. Is their anyway to download the app so the screen isn't blank (can anyone make a backup of the app and send it to me and tell me how to install the app
 
can i install the app from my computer while the phone is off? Also i turn it on and it says sorry the setup wizard has stopped unexpectedly and also says the same for the application messaging which i never deleted so now what. Can i just reset the whole phone back to normal?
 
Here's the default launcher. Unzip it, then in command line cd to it's directory and do this-


adb install Launcher2-1.6.35-mdpi-nfc-ANDR_PRD.apk


You should have something pop up on your screen. If you're rooted, you should push it to /system/app first though.


Just play around with it until you get something. I wasn't able to test it because I messed my phone up pretty bad with a v6 script :/
