Root Clockworkmod 3.0.0.7

Dumbish question. I've downloaded the .zip for the new version of clockworkmod and flashed it. It seems to work at first, but then when I reboot and go back into recovery it's running the previous version. What am I doing wrong?
 
You can't flash a zip of recovery in recovery. You need to flash the recovery.img

Are you s-off? If so flash in fastboot. If not, might be easiest to unrevoked again and manually select your recovery ing
 
There's a utility on xda for flashing via fastboot. It also does splash screens and radio
 
When I had my shenanigens the other day and needed to root again I noticed that when I was installing recovery it stated 3.0.0.7 but it actually installed 2.5.0.7.

rom manager by any chance?

eitherway stay clear of anything clockwork higher than 2.5.0.7 for desire
that was the last one made by koush all the others are made from his sources and modified, most of them are bad

Yep. I didn't realise it was the new version before I started. My ROM Manager now says;

ROM MANAGER PREMIUMv3.0.0.7
Current Recovery: ClockworkMOD 2.5.0.7
Latest Recovery: ClockworkMOD 2.5.0.7

Automatically. I don't use ROM Manager for anything though.
 
its only rom managwer that was updated not the clockwork recoveries
eitherway it will not update your hardflashed recovery
 
I was on 3.0.0.7 which finally worked and now I'm back at 3.0.0.5 which for me has never worked. What gives? I just want to get a good image backup.

What about the one coming with Alpharev (2.5.1.8)? Any info regarding its reliability?
